Description
The more than 725-year-old beer tradition in Litovel dates back to 1291, when King Wenceslas II granted the city the mile right. This privilege allowed only the Litovel burghers to brew and tap beer within a radius of one medieval mile, i.e. in a vicinity of approximately seven kilometres. In the Middle Ages, beer was brewed in a brewing house, which was then located at Litovel 57. Those with brewing rights were among the most affluent people, and played a significant role in managing the city. Even contemporary Litovel beer is brewed using classic processes, the roots of which date back to this glorious historical era.

Can from Terno supermarket. Stale pasteurised heavily oxidized metallic aroma and flavour. Clear golden colour, quickly disappearing head. Not a real charmer, seriously flawed, at least it is not astringent. But nevermind, nothing I would buy again.

Tap at Bastion. Clear golden colour. Taste is mostly bitter, lots of metallic both in aroma and flavour. Not a star but actually drinkable at least.

zapach wadliwy. ogólnie całkiem przyjemny, ciemny, przypalany, lekko czekoladowy, słodowy, ale przykrywa go warstwa mydła pomieszanego z kokosem. barwa czarna, pod światło przejrzysta, brązowa, klarowna. piana beżowa, obfita, trwała i ładnie koronkuje. w smaku pełne, słodowe, lekko karmelowe, melanoidynowe, lekkie rodzynki i miód, trochę kawy zbożowej, przyjemne, wyważone, lekka śmietanka. bardzo wyraźna (ale nie przykrywająca smaku) goryczka, zaskakująco wysoka, przyjemna - ziołowa i lekko owocowa (jak gorzkie części z cytrusów albo jabłek), długo pozostaje w ustach. nasycenie średnie. poza zapachem bardzo udane piwo.

w zapachu słody, lekka śmietanka (typowy czeski pils), zioła i odrobina zielonego jabłka. kolor głębokiego złota, klarowny, przejrzysty. piana dość obfita i długo się utrzymuje, ładnie oblepia szkło. w smaku zdecydowanie pełne, słodowe, z wyraźną goryczką wybijającą się na pierwszy plan. ziołowa, czysta goryczka. potem posmak słodowy, lekko owocowy i ogonki z jabłek. całość dość sycąca, gęsta, jak śmietana trochę, nasycenie średnie do wysokiego

Bottled (backlog, thanks Kim N!). Pretty much deep coppery brown colour, close to black, with a mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is toasted malts, some caramel, mild toffee, ripe fruits as well as some slight syrupy notes. Flavour is very similar, but totally lacks the syrupy side of it. Balanced, and quite pleasant, although a bit on the sweeter side.
