Description
The more than 725-year-old beer tradition in Litovel dates back to 1291, when King Wenceslas II granted the city the mile right. This privilege allowed only the Litovel burghers to brew and tap beer within a radius of one medieval mile, i.e. in a vicinity of approximately seven kilometres. In the Middle Ages, beer was brewed in a brewing house, which was then located at Litovel 57. Those with brewing rights were among the most affluent people, and played a significant role in managing the city. Even contemporary Litovel beer is brewed using classic processes, the roots of which date back to this glorious historical era.

Bottle: Golden, quite huge loose rocky head, moderate sweet-malty and perfumed hoppy nose, moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, quite light bodied for a beer of 5.0% ABV; perfumed sweetish-bitter finish. A cheap, perfumed super-market fizz...........

Canned(500ml). -from BTC Center in Ljubljana, Slovenia as Litovel Classic Lehke Svetle Pivo.
This was the only one beer in some unprovided grocery store across Kratochwill in BTC. Golden coloured, small airy white head, lively carbonation. Weak malty and grainy. Tastes more like N.A. Boring.

Bottled. Dark brown, firm head.Sugary nose. Sweet and light bodied. Light boided with clean, hard mouthfeel. Light roasty malt mingles with saccharine and artificial cherries. Finishing almost without bitterness. This beer illustrates why dark beers are regarded a women thing in Czechia.

Presented as a Royal beer from the Czech republic! Ruby dark colour wth a lasting off white head and lots of dimples. Burnt malty aroma. Different taste with notes of caramel, oats and wort. A good partner to goulash. (500ml bottle from Kilpis, Finland at a taste test together with Finn and Catweazle 11.04.2006).
