Cock Tavern. Cask. Thanks to Leighton for the share. Light haze on this amber beer. no real head. Softish palate, a little dry. Sweet light malt, Trace of caramel. Mild orange hops. Distinct sweet apple. Finishes neutral. A bit green and the hops level here suffers in comparison with the Howling Hops beers which are much more hoppier.

Served in a mug from cask at Southampton Arms, half-pint shared with Finn. Deep, amber brown body under a bright naked surface. Smell of resin and caramel malts. Semi-sweet malts added by resinous bitterness in the flavour that continues throughout the drink. On the average level (London, 06.11.2012).

Bottle. A golden coloured pour with a healthy white head on top. Very little aroma noted, vaguely hoppy. Tastes fruity, bitter, dry, slightly hoppy. Not one to remember to be honest.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Very light haze on this gold beer. Little cream coloured bubbly head. Smooth palate with mild fine carbonation. A little dry. Some juicy citrus like a Golden Ale. Dry sweet malt with a whisper of estery bubblegum. Dry finish with mild bitterness. Somewhat disappointing, needs a lot more hop, but not terrible.

Cask at the Charles Lamb, London. Pours clear, rich gold with barely any head. Light toasty malt nose with dried fruits and leafy grass. Light sweet flavor with more toast, some woody notes, mild leafy bitterness and very faint, dried citrus. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly sweet on the finish with more of the same: toast, toasty sugar, mild dry citrus, light berries and dry wood. Very nice bitter.
