Keg at the plough Ripple Kent. Very pale yellow green. Aroma is sharp fresh fruit, some bile. Flavour is sharp fresh apple, pips, slightly woody. Fresh crisp palate. Light acid.

Bottle. Best before May 2013. Aroma is vinegary, hinting at very dry fermentation, not so inviting for me. Clear light yellow colour. Taste is again slightly vinegary, other than that, has some light sweetness up front, nice clean apple character with a satisfying dry finish. Easily drinkable. Gets better while dirnking.

Bottle from Biddenden. It pours lightly hazy pale gold with a quickly dissipating white head. The nose is earthy, hay, straw, barnyard, light must and soft fruits. The taste is crisp, lightly tart, white grape, apple, earthy, hay, barnyard, pear, sherbet and light alcohol with a dry finish. Medium body and effervescent carbonation. Pretty impressive stuff really. Complex, yet balanced. Almost like a champagne in many ways. Crisp tartness comes through as well. Delicious.

Bottle picked up at Biddenden, consumed to bring in the New Year. It pours clear deep amber with pretty much no head. The nose is rich, plenty of sweet apple, oily, touch of wood and whisky. The taste is smooth, juicy, unctuous apple, candied pear, oily, wood and some whisky in the background. Not actually as much whisky character as I was expecting. Good depth and drinks incredibly smoothly. Has a bit of ice-cider about it. A great sipper.

Cask (handpump) @ The Cock Tavern, 315 Mare Street, London, Greater London, England E8 1EJ.Light unclear medium yellow colour with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy apple, sweet apples, dry apples, barnyard. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light acidic with a long duration, dry, apples. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20120805]

Cask@The Cock Tavern, London. Pale yellow colour, small white head. Aroma is sweet apples, mild tart wooden notes as well as some slight herbal and vanilla notes. Flavour is rather similar. Semidry palate.

Bottle (from National Trust Shop Sissinghurst Castle, Kent): Very pale golden, clear, no foam, fruity - not too dry - nose: apples, what else, with a sourish mouldy touch; moderate to solid sweet-sourish flavour, well hidden alcohol, medium bodied, soft, not really dry; ( but) becoming a bit drier towards the fruity citrussy and vinous finish. Nice, but a tad too sweet…

Aroma is moderate light heavy apple, light barnyard, vinegar notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light acidic with a long duration, acidic apples, tart, dry dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat. [20101231]
