Cask at Rubicon for Sacramento Beer Week. Pours dishwater/oatmeal gold with a bubbly white head. Aroma is rather earthy. Med body. Flavor is earthy with touches of citrus and floral. Really bitter. Earthy.

Draft. Copper beer with a cream colored head. Malt and light pine aroma. Pine and light malt flavor with light caramel. Medium bodied. Pine and earth lingers with light malt.

Bottle at Sour Sunday. Pours very dark brown with bubbles. Bourbon/vanilla over brown sugar for aroma. Med body. Flavor is bourbon/vanilla followed by dark sugar. Mild oak notes - but lots of astringency. Good barrel! I didn’t get grape at all, and apparently the vanilla aspect fooled my brain.

Tap at the brewpub. Very dark brown with a clingy beige head. Sweet malty aroma. Full bodied with mild carbonation. Sweek dark malt wtih a slight amount of bitter. Extremely smooth. A dark, heavy beer. Drinks really well.

BA bottle number 302 from 2011 thanks to billshmeinke. Pours with a hazy, very deep brown body with a frothy off-white head with some lace. Aromas are of brown sugar, vinous, spicy, red wine, light pepper, oak, tannin and caramel. Flavors show a lot of vanillin, caramel, oak and tannin, caramel, bitter, red wine and butterscotch. Medium bodied, full body and good tannin.

Bottle purchased at the brewpub and shared by billshmeinke. Pours with a hazed golden body with some noticeable particles floating around. A large off-white head sits atop. Good retention and lace. Aromas are of pine, orange, resin, grass and caramel. Flavors are of tea, orange marmalade, oxidized hops, sun tan lotion and cardboard. Medium bubbles, somewhat dry.

Draft. Golden beer with a whitish head. Light wheat and citrus aroma with some mineral notes. Surprising hop flavor with backing wheat. Medium bodied. Hops and mineral lingers with wheat and malt.

Tap at The Rubicon. Pours clear medium amber with a creamy biege head that did a bit of ring lacing. Light malty aroma. Med minus body. Flavor is light caramel with a little bitter that seems herb/grass. Bitter finish with a light tea flavor note.
