Brown colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is ashes, some roasted malts, mild liquorice and some slight vanilla as well. Flavour is liquorice, mild ashyness as well as roasted notes. Also some mild vanilla and caramel.

Pours dark copper with a large off-white head. Aroma is richly malty, with loads of smoky peat as well. Caramel, treacle and raisins are all noticeable, but the peat threatens to overwhelm everything else. Some alcohol is present.Flavours are similarly peaty and malty, with lots of caramel and soft alcohol.Body is rich with creamy carbonation, though a little high.Overall, a bit too peaty but otherwise very nice.

Hazy golden color. Very clovey nose with a touch of bananas. Well balanced. Slightly spicy mouth, a bit too low for carbonation, but good depth. Refreshing.

Light amber color. Minerally nose with a touch of apples. The mouth is decidedly hop accent with little malt backbone. Apples. Straight forward bitter finish. Simple, but decent.

Opaque and very dark brown. Small, tight tan head. Very nice coating all the way down the glass. Roasted malt, vanilla, chocolate aroma. Very singed taste, persistent but moderate bitterness. I don’t mind the level of roast malt, but I’d like hints of other flavours lurking behind it. [3.5]Almost black with a large tan head that fades to a lasting coat. Strong roasted malt aroma with vanilla, chocolate and some coffee. That’s pretty much how it tastes too, with some licorice as well. Carbonation a little on the high side for me. Bitterness is very nicely judged. Some astringency at the end too. Have had better bottles than this one, but very solid.

Dark amber color. Slightly sour, toffee, caramel, apricot nose. Very malty. A bit unbalanced. OK for style, but not really memorable.

Bottle. Pours an almost clear copper with a inch of off -white head. Head is well-retained. Fine looking brew. Smells of caramel malt and grass/ citrus hops with some stone fruits and spices. Balanced, but the malt plays second fiddle to grapefruit bitterness. Long bitter finish. Leans towards the English end of pale ales a bit. More restrained than some Australian APAs but not at all a cop out. [3.7]Amber with an inch of off-white head that laces well. Aroma has caramel, nectarines, pine, graprefruit, spices. Oozing rather than bursting with hop aromas - not the freshest of maybe. Lightly carbonated mouthfeel. Taste has some fruit sweetness, a little biscuit, decent finishing bitterness. About half American and half English. Subtle and classy drop.

Pours jet black with a wonderful chocolate mousse-like head showing great persistence.Aroma shows liquorice, dark chocolate, espresso, milk chocolate, roasted grains and light hops. Quite delightful.Flavours are dominated by roasted grains showing some coffee and nutty notes. Unfortunately there is not as much depth or variety as in the aroma. Finishes with an easy-going roasty bitterness.Good rich body, but could do with a bit more creamy carbonation.

Caramel pour with a lasting small head.Lots of c-hops in the aroma, presumably from intense dry-hopping. Some grapefruit and floral notes but mainly dominated by pure fresh hops aroma.Clean sweet malt first up upon tasting followed by more fresh hop flavour and a hint of grainy malt.Too much carbonation.
