Bottle from Mounts Bay Wine Co, Penzance. Clear, oily, pale straw yellow body with no head. Strong aroma of honey, a little floral and subtle fruitiness. Flavor is sweet, but not too sweet honey, kinda subtle fruit, a little spicy in the direction of tooth pasta (not on a negative way). Fine balanced body and long lasting aftertaste. A really nice and glean mead where the honey flavor dominates but it doesn't feel like drinking honey with Vodka as some types tends to do. This is really nice and I really wish to taste some of the flavored one as well.

Bottle. Thanks Beer5000. 14% ABV. A clear, pale yellowish, almost colorless mead. Still. Alcohol, even a touch of thinner or glue, with flowers, heather, grass notes and pale honey in the aroma. It's full-bodied, warming and quite smooth on the palate, with a good dash of sweetness, a vague acidity and flavors of honey, with some flowers and heather. Long finish. A quite decent classic mead, but a bit alcoholic, and gentle on all other aspects. 190711

Bottle at a ChrisO tasting - London. Pours clear, white. Very enticing honey aroma, some alcohol presence. Oh, outrageously sweet, but with very true honey and some fruity notes. Full bodied, chewy. Warming finish with lasting, pure honey sugars. Great example of mead. Some light dryness at the end helps to counter the intense sweetness.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig, 2012, London. Super sweet, lots of sugar, herbs and spices. Sure, there’s obviously loads of honey present. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Warm finish, lots of honey, spices, mild alcohol, lingering sugars. Does what it says on the tin - and does it pretty well, I might add. (3.8)

Bottle at another ChrisO tasting - London. Pours clear, very pale yellow. Big floral honey aroma. Hugely sweet flavor with lots of honey, stinging booze, clover, florals. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Hot finish with more alcohol sting, lots of sugary honey. Very big and sweet and perhaps overly floral at certain points but all in all it’s a decent tipple. (3.7)
