Tap at Old Fashioned. Opaque brown-black body. This rusty beige head. Creamy and sweet, nice interplay between the bourbon and coffee. Big and bold, but surprisingly drinkable.

Keg at World of Beer Wauwatosa, 9/13/16. Hazy golden, large foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of bready malt, lemon, toasted malt, citrus. The taste is earthy, Noble hops, doughy pale malt, green apple. Medium bodied, crisp.

Sample during the 11th Annual Day Before Labor Day Party on 09/04/2016. Black pour with a medium foamy tan head that recedes steadily. Small patches of lacing. Oak, coffee and malt aroma. Medium to full body with flavors of bourbon, coffee and roast malt. The finish is oaky with a bourbon aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Sample during the 11th Annual Day Before Labor Day Party on 09/04/2016. The beer pours a murky brownish-amber color with a medium light beige head that dissipates steadily. Patchy lacing. Oak, malt and dark fruit in the nose. Medium to full body with flavors of oaky bourbon, caramel malt and fruit. The finish is oaky with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Above average overall.

Once again I say pretty good for a beer that really shouldn’t be. Decent hop flavor and aroma. But the body isn’t quite there and the very part of what makes and IPA what it is, compared to a meeker brew, isn’t here. Still, not too bad.

Bottle, hotel beer at RBSG Pittsburgh 2016. Brown color, huge tan head. Aroma has caramel, vanilla, light whiskey. Taste is not overly boozy, very malty, smooth chocolatey coffee. Nice.

Bottle at the RBSG Lobby Share. Pours brown with small off white head. The aroma is wood, bourbon, dark fruit. Medium body, roast, chocolate, bourbon, dry finish, very good.
