Hefiger, leicht bananiger Beginn, süffig. Die Hefigkeit bleibt bestehen, geringe Süße. Süffig, die Aromen nehmen leider schnell ab. Dunkelmalziges Finish. Nett aber nicht wirklich besonders. 11/9/11/9//9

Draught at the brauhaus
Cloudy amber color, with creamy head. Nice malt aroma, grainy, with a touch of biscuits. Malt flavor, sweetish in the front, but also with a medium perception of alcohol and bad (dirty) water; traces of dusty toasted malt; the final is almost unpleasant; ordinary bitterness.

2012-09-21, bottle from the brewery, batch L219, 8-4-8-4-16=40
Dark amber color, flat. The aroma starts getting a light fruity touch, along with the nutty one, and with elements of dry wood. Strong mouthfeel, with a very good malt flavor, caramel, nuts; sweet of course, with low bitterness, and good alcohol control too.
Probably at its peak now, after one year.

Amber color with red shades, flat without head. The aroma shows some oxidation, nuts, raisins, bread. The body is thick, less oily than I’m used to remember; good malt flavor, sweet, some nuts, vanilla, light oxidation; the alcohol perception is low.
It’s more mature and mellower, slightly better than draught at Vetter.

Almost flat, without head, with an amber-brown color. The aroma reveals bread and cookies, and Christmas without cinnamon; then caramel, toffee, malt. Robust body, with very high sweetness, chewy malts, vanilla fudge, sweet nuts, and a hint of sweet liquorice. Largely unbalanced, but it carries some interest, and more harmonious than the version at Vetter.

It pours a dark brown color, with no head, and virtually no carbonation. Quite strong aroma of sweet caramel, with notes of nuts and light phenol and cookies. Thick mouthfeel, with sweet caramel and malt flavor, almost a malt juice, but with pleasant nutty and biscuity tracks, some molasses; the bitterness is low. The alcohol is extremely well hidden. More harmonious than on draught.

A bit of oxidation. Heavy warmth. Sweet and alcohol with a dusty oxidized note. A sipper. Overall a bit too much.

As Fastenbock Süßlicher Malzbeginn mit deutlichen Hefenoten. Weicher im Mittelteil, würzig, angenehme Restsüße. Dann noch hefiger, leicht herb, ausgewogen. Ein harmonischer und süffiger dunkler Bock! 9/10/11/11//11
