Sweetish, boozy and heavy with some licorice, roastiness, chocolate and cocoa, hints of vanilla, licorice and earthiness. Intense.

16oz can from my brother. Dark brown pour, one finger fluffy beige head. Chocolaty aroma, mostly cocoa powder and chocolate syrup. Taste is bit more restrained, chocolate, sweet, but also a bit dry. Lactose plays its part too, so it does end up with the whole chocolate milk vibe.

This amber lager poured a hazy deep orange colour with a creamy, fizzy, off white head. Nice lacing. Scents include tea, citrus, malt and dough. First swig was quite good with flavours of tea, hops and light malt most prominent. Finish is lightly bitter with tea flavours lingering.

I had to look up what terpenes were. Why? Because this beer has peach terpenes in it. Mild malt base, fairly sweet with very forward peach flavour (those terpenes apparently). Mild bitterness and a little hop burn in the finish, with notable sweetness and peach. The balance here is off. The hop bitterness makes a run to tilt things into alignment, but just a little too cloying. Interesting though. Can lcbo

A golden DIPA with a thick frothy lacing off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, light fruity esters, light candy, pleasant. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, papaya, mango, light alcohol warmth, very nice. On tap at Craft Beer Market Ottawa.

Very hop heavy resin, citrus, and bitterness. Over a very sweet base. Lingering similarly. Balance actually works nicely. Orange creamsicle? No. Good beer. Yes.

750ml @ Phill's (thx for the beer!) during Gene's visit. Appearance: dark copper, with a beige head. Aroma: maple syrup bomb with some dark fruits, and some sweetness. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: still not sure why breweries call these maple syrup bottles a beer.

[2015 vintage] Pours dark brown with thin beige head. Aroma has a lot of maple sugar and some malts. Flavour has maple sugar, chocolate, vanilla. Maple has been really well-incorporated; excellent

Medium brown. This has a big maple and some chocolate as well. Not subtle. On the palate, the body is light, maybe in part because of the age. The taste is pretty heavily on the maple, with again a light chocolate note. Sweet, and without a lot of nuance.

Poured from 750mL bottle (approx 10 years old). Dark brown with small beige head. Nice maple character, mild chocolate and roast. Has held up quite nicely.
