Description
General guidance to members adding beers:-

Kernel beers are largely added as 'series' and the naming within the various series are for example ... 'Pale Ale - Hop(s)'. Capital letter on each hop, no commas.

Kernel beers are largely left unretired so don't tick the 'out of production' box unless it's a special/collaboration beer.

With all the various hop combinations it's not been unknown for a specific beer to re-appear again after an absence of 7 years.

The early beers named as 'sours' were brewed by kettle souring, as such these beers (typically 4% and below) are regarded by the brewer to be more akin to a Berliner Weisse stylistically and are therefore listed as such.

The brewery springs from the need to have more good beer. Beer deserving of a certain attention. Beer that forces you to confront and consider what you are drinking. Upfront hops, lingering bitternesses, warming alcohols, bodies of malt. Lengths and depths of flavour. We make Pale Ales, India Pale Ales and old school London Porters and Stouts towards these ends. Bottled alive, to give them time to grow.

Bottle at home. Pours a clear, rich gold with a big, billowing white head. Aroma holds tart, almost sour citrus, lemon, faint plastic and light honey. Flavor is nice, sweet with sugary malts and light caramel, very grassy with more citrus hops. Medium in body and heavily carbonated. A bit more breadiness on the finish, light sugars, more grass and straw on the tongue. Overall, not very cohesive, but a nice beer.

Absolutely no head. Aroma is earthy, woody and burnt toffee. This beer packs a very big flavour, compared to itโ€™s slightly subdued aroma. Dark malty, liquorice, nuttyand finished with bitter coffee. On the palete is is slick, oily and slighlty syripy. The is very little in the way of carbonation with this one. I think it could do with a little bit more to lift those big flavours off the tongue and get a bit more aroma going. Very enjoyable and went down very easy.

Bottle at home. I just wrote a lengthy review and then the Site crapped out. Nothing takes the wind out of my sails like that. Anyway, this beer is good. Pours brown, hazy with a dense, foamy head. Huge pine and grapefruit nose. Like pine needles soaked in sap, blended with the fruit. Some light roast is detectable. Flavor is dominated by the bitterness though some roasty malts do hint through. Medium to full in body with average carbonation. Finishes super hoppy, great and abrasive, with lots of resin that hit the tongue and throat. There is mild warming but the alcohol blends into the whole thing perfectly. Some lightly burnt malts hang in the throat as well. Great beer, especially if you love the hops. Potent. Delicious.

Bottle from Sourced Market, St Pancras station, London. An amber coloured pour with a medium white head. Terrific hoppy, fresh citrus aroma. Tastes hoppy, citrus fruit, pine, orange, slightly sweet and tangy. Really loved this IPA, I feel a trip to the brewery coming on to get me a case!
