650 ml bottle. Pours almost black with light head. Aromas of roasted malts and creamy peanut butter. Flavors of burnt malts, burnt peanuts, bitter dark chocolate powder and bitter coconut. Smells better than it tastes. The later is just a collection of odd bitter flavors with a nasty acidic finish. Not for me.

Bottle, pours a dark orange amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out murky Belgian yeast, earthy notes, and feet. Flavour is very earthy and yeasty, not signalling a very fresh beer. Some oxidized notes to go along with the yeasty quality. Not good.

Bottle - Toast and cocoa with some light vanilla and nut. Deep clear mahogany with a decent beige head. Dark malts, nutty and some cocoa. Decent, but nothing particularly special.

On tap at St Augustine's, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of roasted coffee beans and a little of the peanut butter. Flavour is fairly rich, bringing out a balance of roasted espresso and peanut butter. Nice incorporation of the peanut butter.

Draft - Dark roast and molasses. Deep brown with a very rich nice brown head. Tons of liquorice, molasses and dark bitter roast. Liquorice notes are very nice and add some great complexity. Quite nice.

Poured from the tap. Black with tan head. Mild roast malt with a bit of chocolate. Licorice and medicinal quality to it that adds sweetness along with a bit if molasses. This quality could put some people off as it’s the dominant flavour, but it’s not overbearing in my opinion. Medium body.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Dark color, almost black, with small compact brown head. Its a decent stout, although it has a mild sourness that is out of place and some liquorice that is not appreciated; good mouthfeel; it also has some dark chocolate and roasted nuts; traces of yeast too. If I didn’t hear about the peanut butter, I wouldn’t imagine it.
Not a bad beer, a bit chaotic though.

Brown color with red-brown hue, compact head.
Very light aroma. Strong flavor of dark caramel, some burnt sugars that ruin the palate, and an aftertaste of old chocolate, maybe vanilla; some of the bitterness comes from the malts.
Difficult to figure out what this wanted to be; not pleasant overall, it’s off target and it’s excessive.
