Aroma; Caramel, cherry and toffee. Typical aroma but not much developed and having difficulty sticking out. Visual: Black with red glints. Average creamy head, average lasting. Not much lacing either. Taste: Attack is cherry and dried fruits on a caramel basis. More hoppy than an average scotch ale with a bitterness finish, very long lasting and annoying. Texture is creamy and round, body is medium to full. Malty flavors are buried by strong and unpleasant hoppy finish. Caramel and toffee are not developing.

A blonde IPA with a thin white head. In aroma, nice piney floral hops with citrus notes and faint sulfur. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with floral resinous hops, lingering, nicely made. Bottle at Hivern?ale, Jan 25 2012.

Bouteille 341ml.

Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of candy with some quite intense sweet notes and some light fruity hops notes. Taste is overly sweet with strong candy ester with light fruity tropical hops and light bitter finish. Body is full with good carbonation. Weird beer with hops profile dominated by candy-like ester and overly sweet finish.

Bottle: Poured a clear deep orangey color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of fruity hops with tropical notes. Taste is also dominated by tropical fruit notes with some fruity ester and light bitter notes. Malt backbone is quite discreet with a small amount of residual sugar. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Decent but not really a type of hops that procure me with enough enjoyment.

Smells yeasty, some florals. Lots of barrel in aroma. Pours golden with little head, pretty high carbonation. Taste is astringent - too much barrel here, throws beer a bit out of balance. Bottle from Delires du terroir.

Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and even some lacing. Aroma of unrefined cereal notes with light dry bitter notes. Taste is also a mix between some unrefined grain and cereal notes with dry bitter finish. Body is light with great carbonation. Weird unrefined grain bill didn’t cut it out for me.
