Description
The brewery was established in 2003 by dynamic husband and wife team, Jack and Pippa Lightbown. Using the knowledge gained from their contact with other independent brewers and enlisting the services of master brewer Dan Thomasson, Jack and Pippa began brewing their first beer, Fossil Fuel, on land adjacent to the pub. The brewery now produces five core beers which encompass a wide range of delicious styles and tastes as well as several seasonal ales, a cider and a wide range of real ale produce.
The brewery shares its plot with the Bankes Arms where you can sample the full range of our ales.

Cask at Swan, Farnborough. Having to strain to pick up an aroma - something sweet and malty? Dark amber. Decent frothy white head. Light sweetness with a malty edge. A tangy sourness comes into the finish. Caramel, malt and berries. Light-medium bodied. Slickish. Light carbonation. Astringent finish. OK. Pleasant enough.

From gravicask at The 25th Tuckers Maltings Beer Festival, shared with Finn. Bright amber body, naked surface, lacing rings down the glass. Lightly jam-like nose. Modest spiced fruity flavours followed by some impact of leafy hops to the ending. Average, more or less (Newton Abbot 28.04.2017).
