Bottle at London Gathering Nov 2005. Attractive amber colour with thin white head. Nice hop aroma. Bit thin and tinny in mouth. End has attack of hops. I really rather enjoyed it.

Clear yellow color, medium white head. Good aroma of saaz hop. Good balanced bitter taste, bit sweet, some grain and malt. Much better than the ratings would suspect.

Clear yellow color, short white head. Aroma of very sweet honey, only some hops. Taste is like a lager, but with sweet honey. Served cold, it’s not too overwhelming and a nice change for the pale lagers.

I had this beer at the 3 wise monkey’s pub in Sydney. Crowdy bar for young people (like me or younger), but the reason i went over there was the live music. However, they served this draft beer with a huge slice of citrus in it, so I couldn’t recognise this one as a Hefeweizen. Clear yellow color, short head. The slice of citrus made it smell like citrus, sweet and penetrating, only some hops. I couldn’t recognise any banana or clove. Taste was like a regular pale lager, but with a more sirupy texture. Still, it was not too bad.

Honeyish, fruity aroma. Golden colour. Fairly light body and taste. Hints of malt, slight acidity in the finish. Insipid and uninspired.
2008 re-rate: Golden with slight haze. Slight honey note with bland, doughy malts. Uninspired is right.

Bottled. Amber colour, small head. Hay aroma. Sweet and densely malty with bold caramel character and some resin. Lower bitterness than expected. Like a lighter clone of Fuller’s ESB.

Draught at AIBA, Melbourne. Nut brown. Aroma of melon and caramel. Dry with big crystal malt character, meaning aromatic with simplistic hard mouthfeel. Low bitterness. One dimensional.

Draught at AIBA, Melbourne. Yellow/golden. Aroma of honey and rye bread. Sweet with notes of menthe and clean, hard mouthfeel. No bitterness. Too sweet to be really drinkable, and with an industrial feeling to it.

Draught at AIBA, Melbourne. Bright golden. Grassy nose. Sweetish and solidly malty but with clean mouthfeel and low hop rate. Low bitterness. Bears not much resemblance to Czech pilseners.

Bottled. Cloudy mahogany colour. Tart aroma of black cherries. Dry and medium bodied some some vinegar. The balanced fruit flavour along with it’s tatrness makes it refreshing. Surprisingly good!
