Das "Pater Simon Pils" der Kapplerbräu Altomünster, Fläschchen von Edeka, Altomünster, 3.5.2025. - Goldgelb, blank.

As Weißbier, thanks Fin&Loz! Cloudy yellow, heavy fine carbonation, big white lace. Light mineral and allspice, umami, vanilla banana in a fresh light leafy package

Bottle picked up from REWE, Altomünster, consumed at home Sunday 19th March 2023 listening to Todd Terje - It's Album Time, Loz is baking bread and I am cooking Paella later. Pours light clear gold with a huge frothy white head of foam. Not as malty as I was expecting, in fact there is an underlying bitterness, not heavy but noted, also quite dry, this seems to straddle a path between Helles and Pils, rather than being definitely in the former camp. It's got a little fruitiness, high carbonation, pretty decent and far better than the score here suggests.

On tap at the Kappler-Bräu, brewery tap Altomunster, Saturday 18th March 2023, after a lovely afternoon at Xenofon and Anastasia's. Pours murky yellow with a large billowing soft white head. Nice soft mouthfeel, some creaminess, a little spicy edge, this is a very good Hefe Weisse.

50cl bottle. A hazy golden beer with a white head. Aroma of mild sweet banana, wheat malt, yeast. Taste of yeast, wheat malt, clove watery body.

Bottle from Getränke Center-Schwabing called 'Indersdorfer Volkfestbier' but this is probably the regular Festbier, had this after a wonderful afternoon at Biergarten Schloßallee Haag, our first proper Biergarten in over seven months owing to COVID-19 restrictions. It was a wobbly cycle ride back 😃 Listening to Squid - Bright Green Field. Pours gold, super clarity, sweet and malty but with a little cereal, the bitterness is restrained, it's pretty good.
