A 33 cl bottle suggested by Smaakhuis. My first beer from the brewery and the first wax-dipped bottle I've seen in some time, just saying. For this tasting I have my Chimay glass ready. The body is a dark mahogany brown carrying a light skim of fawn tan foam. I smell dried fruit, grain, earth and a hint of booze. The drink is, well, interesting. Baked bread, dried plums, the rum comes through, cardboard and black raspberries. More bitter than sweet and not a lot of either. I think the sensation is full, perhaps the beer's strongest feature. Not up to the level I had anticipated but a decent quadrupel.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Peated whiskey with dark malt, tar and ash. Moderate sweet with a little alcohol in the finish. Pretty smooth and soft mouthfeel, above medium body. Good.

330ml can. Hazy, orange, dark golden colour with average to huge, frothy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Citrusy and tropical fruity, slightly resinous, hoppy aroma, oaty and wheaty malty background, notes of mango, hints of orange, mandarine, a touch of hemp, moss, oat flakes, whiffs of alcohol. Taste is slightly tropical and citrusy fruity hoppy, papery, grainy, malty basis with low residual sweetness, notes of oat flakes, diluted hints of mandarine, mango, orange; minimally alcoholic finish.
Watery and almost "crumbly" texture, slightly dry, papery palate, medium, soft carbonation.
Quite oaty, more "crumbly" than creamy, not overly fruity - a bit flawed.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Smooth and velvety, well-integrated barrel notes. Whisky upfront and some rum. Also picking up dark malt, dried fruit, some chocolate even. Soft sweetish flavour with a little alcohol. The series can be hit-and-miss, this one clearly in the hit category.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Dark malt with firm roast, coffee, burnt malt, caramel, hint of liquorice. Mild sweet, fairly bitter, medium to full body. Not that boozy. Quite roasty, coffee, decent.
