Opaque colour, tiny beige head. Peaty Islay whiskey aroma in the nose. Light to medium-bodied. Peaty, smokey, woody, toasted flavour. A bit watery and somehow one-dimensional.

330ml. Dark opaque colour, small beige head. Toffee, vanilla, strong bourbon and smoke aroma. Light-bodied.Whiskey, peat, licorice in the flavour. Unfortunately body is very weak and really watery.

Bottle. Color: Very dark ruby, going towards black. Very thin beige head. Aroma: Peat. Taste: Quite a lot of peat, iodine, umami, some oak wood notes, hints of dark fruit. Over medium body, below average carbonation. A bit thin mouthfeel. Over moderate sweet, moderate bitterness. Ok overall but missing some body.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is malt, sugar, soapy and yeasty notes with a spicy touch. Flavour is pretty sweet and sugary. Body is medium. Generic overly sweet Blond that has no place in 2018.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is sweet malt, sugar, grain, boiled vegetables, yeasty notes, apples, and a touch of ripe/candied fruits. Flavour is sweet and cloying, body is medium. Messy, unpleasant Tripel.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is fruity and piney hops with malt, grapefruit, soft floral notes, some pine resin, citrus, and a touch of orange. Flavour is almost moderate sweet with a good bitter finish. Body is medium. Huh. I... expected this to suck, based on the Tripel and Blond, but to my surprise this an actual honest-to-god IPA, and a very decent one at that. On the malty and piney side, but I'm not complaining.

Bottle. I've never been a big fan of Eggens Vatgerijpt series, but it's a long time ago I've tried one and they keep getting high scores on Untapp'd, so time to review once again. Color: Almost black, thin beige head. Aroma: Dark dried fruit, malty, peat notes. Taste: Medium body, mix of dark dried fruit, some raisins, caramel malt, umami, some sweetness and boozy Whiskey, peat coming in after some seconds and staying till the finish, hints of almond. Moderate bitterness, over moderate sweet. Below average carbonation. Ok complexity. Ok overall, but still not that impressed.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is dark malt with liquorice, caramel, candy sugar, alcohol, dried fruits, spicy notes, yeast, and a hint of paintlike off-flavour. Sweet flavour with a fairly harsh bitterness and a boozy finish. Body is medium. Simply not a good Quad, unrefined with no complexity and balance.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is citrussy hops with orange, malt, pine. Not picking up any peppers. Flavour is mild sweetish with a harsh bitterness. Body is medium. Not as good as their IPA, I dig firm hoppy bitterness but it comes out as harsh in this beer.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is fruity hops with pine, citrus, tropical notes, grapefruit, orange, picking up a hint of green chili but only because I know it's in there. Flavour is medium bitter and lightly sweet with a light peppery tingle. Body is medium. Simply a fine enjoyable IPA.
