Pours a nice brown black from a tap, aroma of light roasted aciic coffee beans is kind of washed out a bit in the mouth, a bit of nuts or chicory or something adding a not unpleasant non-coffee bitterness. Good beer.

Poured into an English pint glass, the appearance was a ruddy burnt orange to brown color with a solid sustaining finger’s worth of off white foamy head. The head must last for a good minute before gently dissipating and creating some light speckled lace.
The aroma starts off with some sweet to spicy estery fruit flowing upon rich caramel and toffee malts. Some grassy notes. Clean earthy and spicy hops beat feet upon those malts to add a little bit of zing. Sly herbal notes underneath and then a little bit of chocolate.
The flavor balances very nicely between the sweet to spicy to fruity and caramel/toffee blended flow all combining extremely nice and right on into the aftertaste and on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable flow smoothing out on my tongue. The use of the malts in this beer really helped smooth out some of that \"zing\" I smelled in the aroma as it doesn’t let in any cloying features but just really feels absolutely wonderful.
Overall, an English pale ale with a little beef. Feels just a tad heavier than some others of it’s style, perhaps the chocolate in it, but if anything for a medium ABV-ed beer, it’s heartier than expected and definitely could still go with some fish n’chips.

12 oz. Draft at the Grog, Newburyport, MA. Ruby in color with a moderate light brown head that showed lace. Pleasant aroma of peat, malt, and brown sugar.

The flavor closely follows the aroma with peat, malt, and molasses. There is a bit of caramel sweetness in the flavor as well. Very sweet finish. Lighter bodied with a sticky texture. Not a style I reach for unless the brew is barrel aged. Which sadly this is not.

Draft @ The Port Tavern, Newburyport, MA. Hazy pale yellow, good head retention. Aroma is a mild Mosaic, weak scallion, some nice citrus. Light grain presence.

Pale grain base with a good citrus note in the center, end on a grassy finish. Body is normal and well as carbonation. Pretty drinkable. No flaws at all

Bottle shared by PinkZambia Clear dark brown. Light roast aroma. Mostly light sweet roast malt flavors. Chocolaty and easy. Lacking the sour bite of many porters. Very tasty

Can pour into nonic pint glass from Epsom Circle Market (updated 3/30/19 from Julios Liquors). Aroma is vague citrus dominated by malty bread backbone. Appearance is cloudy gold with a fair amount of sediment in suspension, even without pouring out the last sixth of the can. Finger-width off-white head with poor retention and minimal lacing, occasional large bubble. Taste is moderately sweet caramel malt base with mild citrus. Palate is light bodied with thin, smooth texture and lively carbonation (a little sting). Overall, the appearance really detracts from the overall experience. Better to just drink it out of the can so you never have to look at it. Even so, the aroma and taste aren't really true to an IPA so you're probably better off avoiding unless you're looking for something more APA-like. Skip.

Pours deep gold into a tulip. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving scant sheets. Hot caramel and sour summer fruit aromas. Hot caramel and butterscotch upfront turning to sugared overripe fruit before the medium length earthy hop finish. The original is solid on draft, but this version did not need to happen.

22 oz. bottle purchased at Kappy’s, off of route 95 in Woburn? Almost completely hazy gold color with no head. Aroma has sweet grain with weak citrus. Also a not so fresh malt aroma.

Dusty yeast, cereal grain with a very sweet malt. The hops are no place to be found. Bitterness does not exist. I’m pretty sure this is an old bottle that SHOULD have been pulled from the shelf. Not the Brewers fault with this bottle, just old.
