On tap at Vetter's, Alt Brauhaus Heidelberg, Saturday 26th March 2019, a night stopover en route to our new home in Attenkirchen, Bavaria. Pours dark brown with just a slim off white head. Rich, sweet and sticky. Molasses rule here, this is a very strong beer. I like it but it's a one trick pony and the trick has been done before and better by others

On tap at Vetter's, Alt Brauhaus Heidelberg, Saturday 26th March 2019, a night stopover en route to our new home in Attenkirchen, Bavaria. Pours mid amber, crystal clear and with a white head, it looks good. A touch warm like all of the beers here but it's ok.

On tap at Vetter's, Alt Brauhaus Heidelberg, Saturday 26th March 2019, a night stopover en route to our new home in Attenkirchen, Bavaria. Pours light gold, very pale, soft mouthfeel, white head. It's fine but on the malty ever so slightly sweet side, I prefer crisp, flinty and dry.

Tap at the brewpub. Strangely enough, the waiter told me that this is the helles, but boiled for 9 hours! Reddish brown, clear and flat. Nose is raisins, cocoa syrup, dried prune, and big time treacle. Very sweet, treacle, some burnt sugar, raisin. Massive dried fruits. Aged taste with some oxidation, port-like (Found out that is actually isn’t aged but tasted like it was). Enjoyable.

Tap at the brewpub. Cloudy brown. Nose is chocolate and banana and clove. Standart. Big citrus and estery falvor, clove, cocoa, toasty. Rather light and crisp.

Tap at the brewpub. Labeled “Helles Pils.” Malt nose, very cold. Lemony, more yeasty keller character. Crisp yet full, sweet but finished bitter and dry. Bread / biscuit, peppery, lemony hops.
