Can thanks to Blutt59. I am assuming this lost something when canned as I am extremely disappointed! Pours with a small white head and a murky golden body. Aroma of banana, butter, creamy vanilla and plastic. Taste is lemon, citrus, caramel and butter. Decent, but not an outstanding hefe! Medium bubbles and a dry finish. Not splendid by any means.

Tap at C’est What: Deep clear burgundy color lager with a small foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of nice caramel malt with some light roasted malt. Taste is also a nice mix between some caramel malt with lightly sweet roasted malt. Full body with good carbonation and easily drinkable. Well done and easily drinkable with limited complexity.

Tap at C’est What: Cloudy light dirty beige color weizen with a small foamy head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dominating wheat malt is very refreshing. Taste is also dominated by loads of wheat with some very subtle notes of cloves. This is missing some banana ester which I usually look for in this style. Body is quite full with good carbonation. I very enjoyed that beer but I can’t say that it is necessarily the best weizen I have ever tasted.

A dark clear brown dunkel with a mahogany hue. A wonderful aroma of ginger bread, vanilla, cinnamon hearts. In mouth, a light dunkel with bananas, cinnamon, a bit of ginger, well balanced. A great dunkel, atypical in nature. On tap at C’est What, March 21, 2009.

Had on tap at a couple of places in Toronto. Tangy, lots of citrus, with wheat malt, banana, and spice. Relatively heavy and rich, but the lemon/sour balances the sweetness. This is certainly a decent hefeweizen with no outstanding faults, but I can’t for the life of me figure out why it is rated best in the world on this site. I don’t think it compares with the better Bavarian-made wheat beers.

Tap. Pours a cloudy pale yellow. Looks like apple cider. Doughy scents with plum and apple notes, maybe grapes?!?. Not a heavy yeast flavour as some weissbiers I've had before have had. Finishes with a light body. I would like to have this again in a less smokey atmosphere.

Keg at Ottawa Winter Brewfest. Disclaimer: This event used plastic cups, which may have prevented my ability to fully appreciate this beer. Dark brown, creamy head. Caramelly nose with some coffee. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Well... Caramel and coffee. Low bitterness. Unpolished. Old rating, as Denisons Dunkel in 2001 Nut brown. Softly malty, nicely roasty and well balanced. 8/4/8/4/16 = 4.0

I know why I didn't add this as a new beer, but that decision wouldn't make sense today. Pale and some haze. Thick head. Sweet, balanced acidity, light banana. Whatever logic had my rating carried over from Denison’s, it’s still a classic weizenbier, best I’ve had.

Revived version: Dark reddish-brown. Rich dark matl armoa. Hints of toffee, earthy malts. Full body. Clean.

Old notes: Smooth, with a wonderful sweet, chocolatey malt character, with a touch of vanilla sugar.
