Keudassa Keravalla on pienpanimolaitteisto PICO 50, jossa mäskäyskattilan koko on 60l. Olutta tehdään opiskelijatyönä panimonhoitajan ohjauksessa sekä oppilaitoksen omaan ravintolaan että joihinkin lähiseudun pubeihin.

(Keg at St. Urho’s Pub Portteri- ja Stout-päivät, 20160217) The beer poured clear and dark brown. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had toasted malts and earth. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, ash, sweetness and bitter. Aftertaste was burnt. A thin and burnt brew.

(Bottle, 0.75 l - #235/400, thanks VastActiv, at tiong’s tasting, 20160109) The beer poured pale golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had sweetness and yeast. Palate was quite light bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, sweetness, acridness and bitterness. Aftertate was watery and unpleasantly bitter. An unpleasant saison.

Bottle 0.75l at tiong’s, Espoo. Bottle number 235/400. Colour is cloudy golden with large thick white head. Aromas and flavours: Fruits, citrus, yeast, tackiness, harshness, Belgian yeast and some malts. 0.75l could be challenge to only one person.

Bottle #235/400 - Pours cloudy yellowish with a small white head. Aroma of yeast, earthy notes, stuffy malts and off notes. Taste is yeasty, stuffy and messy with hints of earthiness and ripe fruits. Finish is stuffy and yeasty with some messy flavors. Quite yeasty and stuffy.

Tap @ St. Urho’s Sahtipäivät 2015. Dark brown, thin brown but lasting off white head. Bready aroma, coffee, yeast. Flavor has banana, wheat, yeast and bread. Dunkel weizen like. I’m open minded.

(Keg at HBF2015) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had burnt malts, grain and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, unmalted barley, metallicness and bitterness. Aftertaste was grainy, burnt and bitter. A confusing brew. Not my thing.

Tap @ HBF15. Dark brown, thin off white head. Bready, light spicy nutty aroma. Flavor has bread, rye, molasses. Decent enough.

(Keg at St. Urho’s Pub XIX sahtipäivät, 2014) The beer poured dark reddish brown. Its head was small and white. Aroma had caramel, sweentness and mildly juniper. Palate was medium bodied and watery with noticeable carbonation. Flavours were caramel, juniper, sweetness, malts and low bitterness. Afteraste had sweetness and caramel. Tasted like an ale with a lot of caramel malts and hardly any carbonation.

Tap at St Urho, Helsinki. Sahtipäivät 2014. Colour is brown with small bubbly white head. Aromas and flavours: Fruits, banana, sweetness, yeast and malts. Quite light for a sahti.

Draught @ St. Urhon Sahtipäivät 2014
Aroma has licorice, some strong bready tones and some hay. Perhaps some smoky tones too. Flavour has licorice, some spicy tones and ripe bananas. Also alcohol is present in the background, but it does not disturb. Not the most typical sahti at all its breadiness. Not bad anyway.

Coffee version
Aroma has roasted tones, toffee and coffee. Flavour has coffee, roasted tones, some ripe banana ana some toffee notes. Good beer but sahti is well hidden here.
