On tap at WBF-Raleigh on 04/24/2010 as Rust Belt Blond. Clear golden body with a small white head. Sweet toasty aroma with some floral notes. Sweet floral and light toasty flavor. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

22nd May 2010. ChrisOs ’Blue Ridge Mountains Of Virginia’ tasting! Clear brown beer, no real head. Light semi dry palate. Zero carbonation. Light malt and a little minerals. Malty bland mess.

Bottle 22fl.oz. @ chrisos Back In The UK Tasting.Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, berry, cereal. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20100522]

Sample at the "Portland? Psh More Like Beerland" tasting on 03/10/10. Pours a slightly hazed brownish amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Spots and strings of lacing on the glass. Light caramel malt aroma. Medium body with flavors of bready malt, fruit and faint hops. The finish is short and sweetly malted. Barely average overall.

Big black oily looking pour, reminds me of the used 50w oil that comes out of my shovelhead. Burnt charcoal aroma, perhaps some birch or beech or clove or something in the background, all in a good way. From a bomber poured into a big glass mug. Appears thicker than it is on the palate. Decent carbonation for a dry stout and I like that. Yes, fairly well mannered for a stout. Easy to drink, even fun at times. Choco dark, coffee but not bitter. Actually its difficult to find any traces of bitterness or rudeness in this brew.Gentle but effective dark beer. $4 for this cheap bomber, excellent deal! Good tingle thru-out even to the bottom of the glass. Finish chewing on old damp campfire coals. Pleasant beer experience. Would not hesistate to buy again.

Big inexpensive beer deal; 22 oz bomber for $3.50, I love those local beers! So price effective and tasty. Hey, I’m not an IPA lover so ignore my humanistic rating of this beer. It is for the most part on style so, if you like IPAs, get a bomber of this and catch one! Looks like a darker pale lager, somewhat like yuengling. Smell is strong, yet dull in floral hops, but dull in a strong good way; you know the edge is nocked off the olfactory. Decent head that fades to an attractive creamy scum. taste is bitter IPA that sticks to your tongue like hand soap and cod liver oil. Not quite like chewing on green grapefruit rinds but it ceratinly is a real go getter. Long bitter rude finsh that reminds me of the reasons that I don’t care for this style. But again, try it if youy like hops. Strong and bold without being sharp.

Bomber. I love the prices on these Rust Belt brews and so far they have been pretty good, so I’m excited about an IPA. This one pours a coppery orange with a medium-sized sudsy head and weak aromas of caramel malt and apple fruitiness. First sip reveals a bit of a disappointing take on the style. Malt driven with little hops (at least American IPA style hops) oomph. Lots of caramel and apple drive the thing, with a bit of a grassy and herbal hops presence. It’s not bad, and probably would rate higher in my book if it were labeled something other than IPA.

Bomber. Pours a dark brown with little head. Aromas are a mix of leather, peat and charcoal and a bit of stale coffee. Flavor is decent enough... mimics the aromas pretty well, but comes off as fairly thin at times. Chocolate is a new addition on the palate, and finish is slightly bitter with hints of peat and coffee.
