From a bomber that I got from the Vintage Estates, boy what a nice place! Barely any pressure release when I pop the lid. Smell is strongish with some candy hints on the olfactory. Poured into a big 22 oz mug. Color is darker brown but kighter than a stout. Has no sediment on the bottom of the bottle. No visible carbonation and no head to speak of. First taste is mildly roasty and there is some creamy carbonation present. Has a fairly light body for a darker beer. Tho I do not detect much bitterness per se, there is some bitterness that develops on the palate after the slug is swallowed. This beer is relatively easy to drink, rather friendly for an Irish ale. This beer is much better and more fun than; Samuel Adams Irish Red Ale, Great Lakes Conways Irish Ale, Flying Bison Aviator Red, Carlow OHaras Irish Red and much much better than Wexford Irish Cream Ale. The small amount of carbonation is very welcomed. Halfway thru the bomber I still find myself wanting to drink more. Well mannered. Overall, a decent beer drinken experience. On par with some of the best irish ales I’ve tasted including many local brews, Murphys Irish Red Beer and Saranac Irish red. Better in a few respects when compared to harpoons, smithwicks and Michelobs Irish red. Thank you rust belt, Phil & company!

This beer, which was simply called rust belt blonde, was on tap at the Vintage Estates. Not available in bottles like its brother. It is of significant import. Looks like, an ever so slighty hazy, yellow pale lager with a big white foamy head which settled after a few minutes. Aroma is yeasty perhaps with some vanilla background. At first there was barely any carbonation but I think it grew more tingly as the session continued and became almost creamy between the gums. Pretty smooth beer. Fun with just a tad of bitterness to let you know it is beer. Never overwhelming. Very kind to the taste buds for a lager lover. Overall good freindly beer expereince, thanks Rust belt, Phil & Co.

Bomber. This is the first rating for this beer and for this brewery. Pours a very nice brown with red highlights and a dense finger of tan head. Aromas are fairly interesting... some nutty earthiness and a very distinct floral presence... like roses or something. Flavor is pretty good... a nice mix of nuts, toast and toffee on the malt side and a bit of that odd rose presence on the other with a little bit of a bitterness. Still, it doesn’t come through quite robustly enough... I wouldn’t say that it is watery, it just seems to flag at a couple of points as it races across the palate. Still, if this is the first of the offerings from Rust Belt, I’m eager to try the rest.
