Keg at Zum Franziskaner. A bit hazy dark golden with a medium white head. Quite mild with bread, caramel and some fruit. The body was medium and the bitterness low. An easy to drink one.

Keg at Zum Franziskaner, Stockholm. Lightly hazy amber colour, mid sized head. Fruity nose with caramel. Mid sweet with medium to full body and rounded mouthfeel. Bready and caramelly with notes of red apples. Low-medium bitterness.

“Hoh Dunkel“, Flasche (50 cl) von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin-Wedding. Das einzige Bier der Brauerei Hoh Köttensdorf, ein dunkles unfiltriertes Lagerbier. - Tiefdunkles Rotbraun, leicht trüb, schöner beigefarbener Schaum. - In der Nase warmes dunkles Malz, mild moosige Noten (Waldboden), zarte Pflaume, Anklänge an Lösungsmittel. - Antrunk schlank und kernig dunkelmalzig mit milder säuerlicher und etwas penetranter phenolischer Note. Dunkle Brotkruste, bitterer Caro-Kaffee. Im Hintergrund erdige Hopfenherbe. Ziemlich dünn, alkalisches Mundgefühl. Im Abgang röstige Malzbittere und milde, leicht erdige Hopfenherbe. - Stark malzbitteres aber etwas dünnes Dunkles; aromatisch nicht völlig überzeugend aber doch eigenartig süffig.

At the brewpub, 14/8/2015. Golden in colour, with a foamy, off-white, head. Spritzy, easy drinking with a mineral edge, touch of berry fruit sweetness and gentle finish. Very welcome on a sweltering afternoon.
