About
In 2014, Sam Richardson, Matt Monahan and Andrew Burman founded Other Half Brewing Company, a local brewery in New York City with a simple mission: to create beers that they wanted to drink from a company that they wanted to be a part of. Their vision was to build a passionate team that brewed great beers in the state of New York—done so with effort and thoughtfulness—to represent the “Other Half” of the industry. Today, Other Half craft beers in their Brooklyn brewery and are dedicated to collaborating with breweries both in New York as well as across the world in an effort to constantly move the industry forward while elevating the craft. The Other Half team believes that local breweries play an important role in their communities which is why they partner with these other likeminded brewers and brands in local nabes across the country and the world—but always return to their home state of New York and their Brooklyn taproom.

PLEASE NOTE: As of 2023, Other Half no longer markets beers as "Double Dry Hopped". Instead, the DDH version is now listed as just the beer name, and the non-DDH version has been retired.

When entering a beer, please enter "Hop Showers" instead of "DDH Hop Showers" or "Hop Showers - DDH".

At the source: pours orange with a white head. Aroma is kind of gassy and stinky but not really in a bad way. Taste is slightly bitter at the front with some biscuit or something toward the back. Not at all watery pr anything like that. Not bad.

At the source: pours hazy orange gold with a white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, pineapple, hints of citrus. Taste is not very bitter, but not too bretty. Some very light tartness. Some slight sweetness happening there as well. Finish has most bitterness that seeps into aftertaste. Pretty much as expected for an OH beer.

Thank you Mathieu87! Sampled can @ “Vini Birre Ribelli 2015”. Drank straight from the can. Taste is strong milky yeast, with fresh onion, garlic hops with some sugary sweetness underneath. A bit too yeasty for me but that is the currant style of these breweries. he hop expression was nice, it drank decently. Nice beer.

4oz sample at the brewery pours an opaque black with some creamy, beige head. Nose has malt and molasses, bread crust, brown sugar, burnt cookies, some dried fruit. Flavor is huge with malt and licorice and molasses, dried cocoa powder, dark cherries, pencil lead, some smoke. Full bodied, sticky, a little boozy but surprisingly a bit dry.

4oz at the brewery pours a super murky, nearly opaque pineapple gold with a ring of white head. Nose has pineapple, orangina, some melon, a little straw. Flavor is all pineapple juice, guava, honeydew, some candy. Finishes a little slick and fruity. Not bad, but a bit of a Tired Hands rip off.

4oz at the brewery pours a murky black with some creamy tan head. Nose has a lot of roast, so classically stouty, chocolate, bread, some char, a little mushroom. Flavor is sticky with malt and a little licorice, some toast, a little marmite, some burnt root veg, a little lemon maybe, burnt caramel. Full bodied but really drinkable.
