In 2014 opgericht door Ward Venstra en Sander van Engelen. In 2016 vonden we een unieke locatie voor ons brouwcafé. In 2017 pitchten we onze plannen voor een kleinschalige brouwerij met proeflokaal en samen met de oprichters van Bar Joost hebben we vervolgens de krachten gebundeld. Ons brouwcafé opende in augustus van 2018 haar deuren in het Insulinde Huisje op het Cruqiuseiland. In februari van 2020 koppelde Bruut zich los van de Brouwerij in het Insulinde huisje, die onder de naam Krux verder gaat. Sander van Engelen gaat met Bruut verder als brouwerijhuurder.

In 2022 opende Bruut haar nieuwe brouwerij aan de Spaklerweg 1F.

Speciaalbier is onze passie. Bruut brouwt niet normaal lekker bier met extra veel aandacht voor bierkwaliteit. Onze bieren worden gemaakt in een brouwerij met de modernste brouwtechnologie. Zo kunnen we voldoen aan de kwaliteit waar de markt om vraagt. Het vernieuwen en optimaliseren van onze bieren is een continu proces. Hierbij kunnen we rekenen op technologische adviezen van Biercentrum Delvaux, het toonaangevende kenniscentrum en laboratorium voor ambachtelijke speciaalbieren.

Bruut heeft smaakvolle bieren van de beste kwaliteit. Al onze core-bieren worden in Amsterdam ontwikkeld en gebrouwen bij Brouwerij Anders! (BE) die beschikt over een hightech Duitse GEA-brouwzaal. We brouwen daardoor met de modernste brouwtechnologie wat van beslissende invloed is op de kwaliteit van Bruut bier.

fles van webshop, bleek helder geel/gouden met witte kraag. aroma van gras, hop en citrus. Smaken zijn dun/waterig, matig bitter, mega maar dan ook echt mega droog, hop gras, bittere afdronk, lichte body, ok co2, maar ik ben niet weg van die kalkachtige droge basis.

Bottle thx to skortila, small sample. Cloudy golden color, medium frothy head. Aroma of wheat, grainy, bit spicy yeast, some grassy hop. Grainy wheat in taste, soft bitterness. Would have thought it was some kind of witbier. Top fermented lager. Whatever.

330ml bottle from trade with MonsterMagnet. Many thanks chap. Pours a hazy gold, eager pillowy white head. Aroma of vanilla, yeast, cake icing. Taste is sweet yeast, fresh citrus, lightly fuzzy carbonation.. more sweet yeast. Nice tripel-ish beer.

Many thanks to RW80 for this bottle! Smooth and highly carbonated slightly sweetish beginning. Beside the carbonation, the body is soft. Hints of smooth sweetish grain, not too sweetish with the classic typical aroma of smooth sweetish grain and smooth bitterness. Sweetish-bitter grainy aftertaste, floral hops there, nice.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Mitra Gorinchem. Dark hazy golden with a white head. Malty aroma with some yeast and citrus hops. Bitter taste with some sweetness as well. A really nice mature multi-layered Belgian blonde. Well done.

[ As Bruut Saison Brûût ].Clear light to medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, pale malt, wheat, sweet malt, moderate yeasty, saison yeast, spicy yeast, floral, light metalic. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a average duration, sweet malt, fruity malt, saison yeast, peppery, dry, metalic, light floral. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20160902]

Bottle @ home. Hazy yellow golden color, medium sized a bit foamy white to off-white head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, wheat, light citrus hints. Taste malts, slightly wheat and slightly yeast, again some citrus and a hint of herbs and slightly minty spice. A bit weird but overall ok.

Bottle from Mitra Bunnik, BB 01/06/2018, large sample. Slight hazy golden color, big rocky head. Aroma of whole grain cookie, spicy yeast, peppery, coriander, bit grassy hop. Slight malty sweetness in taste, soft to medium bitterness, spicy yeast. Quite some carbonation, but that fits this style. Pretty enjoyable Duvel type of beer. I like it.

Tap at Duinoord festival. Hazy pale golden/thin white head. Dry chalky & vegetal bitter. Light sweet & fruity, some more bitter, lime, vegetal. Thin body, bit watery, about average carb. Dry bitter finish w/some zesty citrus.
