"But where are we ?", you will ask yourself.
Well, you are in a family brewery where Lambic, Gueuze, Faro and Kriek are made and where nothing has changed since 1900 when it was founded. The Van Roy-Cantillon family welcomes you and invites you to discover a fabulous world. Beers, tools and brewing process are still the same as in the beginning.

Red copper containers, barrels, some of them more than 100 years old, and walls of bottles constitute the scenery for your visit.

Anyway, you’ll be able to taste a real traditional Gueuze-Lambic and if you would like to know more about the Kriek or the Framboise, just ask the brewer.

Bottle. Frothy red good mostly lasting head. Very sour aroma. Almost no cherrynote. Very sour and not pleasen flavor. No sweetness and cherry. Watery palate. More geuze than fruitlambic.

Bottle, 37.5cl corked, 2007 vintage (batch 2). It pours an unclear, reddish body, like a blueberry juice, with pinkish-whiteish-reddish small head. There’s a lovely whiff of blueberry when pouring it, but it disappeares quickly. Then there’s the usual barnyard, horseblanket and citrus. Lovely. The flavor follows the same path of course, but the berries are more evident in th flavor. It’s really palate-cleansing, not thick and oily. Pleasant finish where the blueberries is really evident and nice. Like eating berries from the bush and having a slice of lemon to go. A beauty. Rating: 8-4-8-3-17-4. 080626

Bottle, 75cl corked, 2005 vintage (batch 1). A hazy, amber beer topped by a dense, off-white head. Slightly rubbery blueberry aroma, subtle and not very funky. The flavor has some vinegar and funk, with lemon and a nice blueberry touch. Medium body, dry. Vinegar and lemon in the finish, along with some blueberry. A very easy drinkable beer, rather lovely. 100827

Bottle @ BierCaB. Nice head with good duration. Color is ruby. Aroma and taste are rich sour cherries, lactose acid, malt, fruitsand little hops. Wonderful and acidic. Originial rating 2008. 6/4/5/3/11. Bottle. Huge pink head with good duration. Color is red. Aroma and taste are rich with cherry and typical for Cantillon - lots of lactose acid. Very sour.

750 ml bottle. Bottled 05 Sept 2007. Hazy orange amber color with no real head. Slightly acidic aroma. Rather thin, with no carbonation. Flavor is mildly acidic with a little light stone fruit and some citrus. Finish is about the same, but a little wood is detectable. It’s a very good drink. It seems to go well with cheese and nuts.

2002 bottle tasted 2008. Nice beer. Aroma previews the sourness with a distinct lemony grassiness, plus a very pleasing jasmine flower aroma. Really nice. Flavor begins with a hard acidity, but once you adapt it smooths out to a nice tartness plus a sweet white wine vinousness. Perhaps just a trace of leathery funk in the background, along with a floral note in the finish. Hazy golden, virtually no head, light carbonation.

2002. Dark orange. Sour aroma with grape skin. Some more grape in the flavor but it is overwhelmed by considerable sourness. Even at 6 years old, this is a very sour beer. Cloudy orange appearance, it looks like any quality gueuze. Like other Cantillon products, this is very sour. Excellent.
