In the winter of 2016, the two Augsburgers, Enzo Frauenschuh and Matthias Gruber, founded FrauGruber Brewing (FRAUenschuh + GRUBER = FrauGruber) and brewed their first beers as Gipsy brewers in spring 2017 in the Old Factory in Gundelfingen. It quickly became clear that all the ideas, experiments and further developments would be very difficult to implement without an own brewery and the freedom that goes with it. In order to grow quantitatively and conceptually, FrauGruber had to grow. We managed to realize our dream of having our own brewery in January 2020. So we came to our goal of creating a kind of "way of life" and building a community with which we can share the enthusiasm and passion for beer. Our aim is to test and live the incredible variety of beer, to act sustainably and especially to give beer a higher value.

Orange with little white head. Aroma is orange, apricots, yeast, banana. Taste is cracker malt bitterness with some sweet fruit. Finish is decent butter and fruit. Nice.

Sampled @ BKL 2017. Leicht trübes hell goldgelbes Bier mit einer mittelgroßen weißen Schaumkrone. Geruch grasig hopfig, helles Malz, grasig. Geschmack sehr hopfig, grasig, leicht trocken, süffig, lecker.

Black with creamy brown head. Aroma is coffee, coffee beans, cocoa, leaves. Nice and complex. Taste is chalky and sour coffee. Thin body, flat. Not deep and complex. A bit disappointing.

Tap. Hazy golden color with big white head. Aroma is pineapples, peaches, bready, a bit grainy. Taste is pineapples again, bready-grainy, soft silky mouthfeel. Grainy in the aftertaste. Very nice Helles.

Sampled @ BKL 2017. Klare dunkel goldene Farbe, große weiße Schaumkrone. Geruch ist angenehm fruchtig hopfig, hefig, bananig. Geschmack ist bananig, sehr fruchtig hopfig, hefig, grapefruit, super.

Draught at BKL München 2017.
Almost black body, with a big, creamy, lacing, dark beige head.
Aroma of coffee, cocoa, toffee, dark fruits, some toast.
Tastes quite similar, with some more nuts.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes smooth, roasty, moderate dry, a bit sweet, with coffee, toast, cocoa.

Very nice. Smooth and very well balanced, with lovely coffee and cocoa throughout. Drinks quite easy for the style, while it’s never too light, once again greatly balanced. Another enjoyable, characterful style example by this brewery.
