Description
In the winter of 2016, the two Augsburgers, Enzo Frauenschuh and Matthias Gruber, founded FrauGruber Brewing (FRAUenschuh + GRUBER = FrauGruber) and brewed their first beers as Gipsy brewers in spring 2017 in the Old Factory in Gundelfingen. It quickly became clear that all the ideas, experiments and further developments would be very difficult to implement without an own brewery and the freedom that goes with it. In order to grow quantitatively and conceptually, FrauGruber had to grow. We managed to realize our dream of having our own brewery in January 2020. So we came to our goal of creating a kind of "way of life" and building a community with which we can share the enthusiasm and passion for beer. Our aim is to test and live the incredible variety of beer, to act sustainably and especially to give beer a higher value.

Bottle shared by SinH4 @ hotelroom tasting after Borefts Beer Festival Day 1. Very hazy murky pale yellow color, medium sized white head. Quite nice aroma that's dominated by grassy hops. Taste lightly malts, grassy hops again, hoppy bitter, nice touch of tropical fruits as well. Decent body, medium a bit sharp carbonation. Quite nice this one! 8-2-8-3-16.

Can shared at Borefts hotelroom by SinH4. Thanks Stefan! Hazy pale yellow color, medium to full sized white head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is lightly malts, hayish, a hint of lemongrass. Taste malts, wheat, again a hint of lemongrass, moderately bitter. A bit too high carbonation though, but very nice overall.

Can. Hazy yellow color with white head. Aroma is pale malts, bready, lemongrass, herbal hopspice. Taste is bready, grassy, lemongrass again, quite some grassy hops in the finish. Silky mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Well-made Kellerpils, much better than their Modern Times. Well done! 7-4-7-3-14 new batch. 8-4-8-3-15

From backlog. 330ml can from Biererei, Berlin. BBE 13/10/17. Pours golden orange with a thick white head. Aroma of grassy hops, earthiness, grainy malts, pine and loads of herbal hops. Taste is herbal hoppy, piney and resinous with some grainy malts, earthiness, hay, grass and hints of caramel and mild smokiness. Finish is grainy, herbal and earthy with some pine, grass and hay, hints of very mild smokiness. Interesting mix of a mildly smoky kellerbier and an APA.

Tap. Milky yellow-golden color with white head. Aroma is passion fruit, peach, apricot, some milky yeasts. Taste is juicy tropical fruity, muddled milky yeasts, biscuity malts, slightly warming finish. Silky mouthfeel. A bit too yeasty to be a total winner, but nicely balanced and with nice fruit aromas!

Tap. Milky yellow color with white head. Aroma is grassy hops, milky yeasts, tropical fruits with mango, pineapple and passion fruit. Taste is milky yeasts, biscuity malts, juicy hops again, some sweetness. Silky mouthfeel. Quite surprising for the ABV, works! 7-3-7-4-15. Tap, 2018 version. I like about this beer that it is not overhopped and not aggressive, and not too grassy, with zero hopburn. Good one!

15/VIII/17 - 33cl can @ Help-Me-Get-to-10K-In-Time-Tasting 2 (home) - BB: 14/X/17 (2017-1238) Thanks to Tinus for sharing the can!

Clear dark brown beer, small aery beige head, unstable, dissipates quickly. Aroma: nice roast, caramel, chocolate, sweet impression, bit yeasty. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: pretty sourish start, which was rather surprising, lots of coffee, dry, bit hoppy, some cinnamon. Aftertaste: more chocolate, sourish notes, hoppy finish, very roasted with a fruity touch to it.
