330ml bottle from Dan Murphy’s, Hurstville.Cloudy pale yellow colour, short-lived white foam head and aroma of apple, fruity, hints of sulphur. Taste is juicy apple, sweetish, fruity. Light bodied, medium carbonation, dry sweetish finish. OK.

345ml bottle from Dan Murphy’s Hurstville. Very pale watery yellow colour, short-lived fizzy white foam head and aroma of apple, hay, cardboard. Taste is sweet, apple, green apples, fruity, sugary. Syrupy mouthfeel, light bodied, spritzy carbonation, drying lightly tannic finish. OK, abit bland and sugary.

330ml bottle, from Dan Murphy’s Hurstville store, Sydney NSW. Pale yellow gold colour, white foam head that dissipates away and aroma of juicy apple. Taste is tart apple, fruity, tangy, bittersweet with some drying tannins. Crisp mouthfeel, light bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry tart & lightly tannic finish. Quite OK.

Tap. Amber, off-white lace. Sweetish bisquitty aroma, light grassy hops, leaves a light grainy aftertaste. Medium Light body. Not offensive.

375ml bottle. Golden orange colour, thin white head which fades away very quickly. Light aroma of grain, hops. Taste is a little bland, some malts and hops and a little metallic bitterness. I mean it’s not bad but there’s not much good to write about either. Disappointing.

375ml bottle into tulip glass. Nose is slightly citric but also slightly skunky. Bronze coloured beer with solid white head. Lightly carbonated. Thin body, chalky mouthfeel. Finish starts with light malt then sweet lemons take over. Big brewery attempt at Pale Ale. Interesting but tastes & smells like Tooheys New with added lemoniness.

Explained to me as "the coal miner’s beer". Still pretty good stuff, mildly sweet, caramel, nutty. Brown body with small airy head, easy drinker.
