Location: On tap at the Ginger Man in NYC, 4.5 oz glass as part of a flight, 6/27/09
Aroma: A nice sweet nose to it, some sweet malts, a touch of caramel apple smell
Appearance: Amber/orange color, a nice looking beer
Flavor: A decent flavor, but it just seemed to be missing a bit to me
Palate: An alright palate, but a touch watery, decent
Overall Impression: I thought this one was alright, but not great, probably my least favorite or the 4 beers in my flight. 6/3/5/2/12
Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 11/22/11
Aroma: The nose is malty and grainy, some caramel malts, and a little apple
Appearance: Pours a caramel-orange color with a huge beige head, and lots of lace
Flavor: The taste is medium sweet, a little sourness, the bitterness is fairly minimal
Palate: The body is light-medium, the mouthfeel is a touch slippery, and it has average carbonation
Overall Impression: The bottled sampling of this beer didn't really improve my impression much. It is still kind of a mediocre beer. I didn't love it. It is drinkable, but there is just something about the feel that doesn't quite work as well as one might hope. Eh... 5/3/6/2/12

British pint pour at the Gutter (man, Barcade people love Climax). The color is completely clear straw color. Aroma is strong, especially considering the style, with lagered sweet fruitiness and a light oiliness on the nose. Taste is much less fruity but instead the light fruitiness is complemented with a light herbal flavor. It has a bit of a seltzer/mineral mouthfeel to it. This is the exact opposite of the finish, which leaves a lightly oily feel and sweet fruit aftertaste. It’s an original take on the Helles style (whatever that may encompass).

Dark amber body without a head. Smell of dark citrus fruits. Fresh and dry palate flavoured by grapefruits and honeyed malt. Lingering bitter endnotes. Well bodied and a pleasure to drink (half pint shared with Geir, at Bieres Sans Frontieres, GBBF 06.08.2008)

Cask at the GBBF 2008, gravity dispense. ABV was 5.5%. Golden brown colour, no head. Moderate aroma of fruity hops, notes of blackcurrants. The flavour is first malty with notes of honey and caramel, then a hoppy bitterness takes over and lasts through the aftertaste - fruity hops first, then a "dusty" finish.

Cask at GBBF 08. It’s got that washing up water flavour some American beers have. Yeasty, earthy. Just very very odd.

Cloudy amber with tiny off white head. Sweet fruity aroma with floral hops. Sweet flavor with caramel and mild hoppy notes leading it to a bitter end.

Half gallon growler. Hazy amber, yellow color. Creamy, long lasting beige head. A pleasant biscuit malt aroma is balanced by a refreshing spicy hoppiness. Creamy semi-sweet malt flavor with hints of vanilla and fruit. Decent hop bitterness lies long on the tongue. This is very drinkable ale that I highly recommend.
