On tap @Luppolo Station (Rome). Ambrata/ramata carica, piuttosto torbida, schiuma avorio leggera. Al naso note fruttate, di pugne, pesca noce, malto. In bocca è mediamente dolce all'attacco, maltata, con acidità contenuta, fruttata, leggermente tart. Corpo medio-leggero, carbonazione leggera. Non male, ma servirebbe più carattere.

Cask, at the new L’Ermitage place. Took some pouring. I’m guessing a hand pump is fairly new to these boys! Nose has wheaty grain. Lots of pith. It’s a bit worty, really. Taste fares better, feeling well balanced, bitter and sweet. Medium body belies the 8.5%. Moderate bitterness to finish. Ok. Doesn’t jump out of the glass, particularly.

Bottle. Murky brown color, Red berries and caramel in the aroma. Malty sweet and sour flavor with red berries, toffee and a hint of vinegar. Dry finish. Fairly complex, a bit too caramelly maybe.

Bottle. Color: Slightly hazy reddish amber, beige head. Aroma: Lactic acidity, red fruit, caramel. Taste: Medium tart, moderate sweet, red fruit notes, some caramel / candy sugar, hints of wood. Notes of very sour vinegar, Balsamico vinegar at finish. Dry-ish mouthfeel. Medium body, below average carbonation. Pretty nice, but I dislike the very sour vinegar notes at the end of each sip.
