Golden bronze colour. The aroma is a bit fruity. The taste is toasty-caramel malt background, fruity yeast (apple, berry) and some earthy hop bitterness. Another winner from Abbey Ales.

Bright amber-brown. Rich caramel and breadcrust aroma. Chewy breadcrust character with soft dark sugars and maybe some light fruit. Nicely balanced autumnal character to this one.

Cask gravity at White Cliffs BF 2010. Recommended to me. Black, ruby edges, lasting dark beige head. Roasted aroma. Good in mouth, lovely choc. Good roast on swallow and finish. Satisfying.

Cask (Helsinki Beer Festival 2009) - Gold/amber in colour. Malty and ever so slightly citric aroma. Malty and slightly fruity taste with hints of grain. Cask (Bell, Bath) Enjoyed it more here. A nicely balanced bitter.

(Cask at HBF2009) Amber and clear. Small white head that lasts quite long. Fruitiness, toffee and malts in aroma. Medium bodied and dry palate with little bit of carbonation. Malts, toffee, bitterness, bread and sweetness in taste. Bitter and malty aftertaste.

Cask @ Bon Accord. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma and flavour of sweet caramel malts, with citrus and orange. Ok bitter.

Cask-conditioned at the Coeur de Lion, Bath 7/05/09. Coper coloured with a slight, off-white head. Sweet, red fruit and caramel aroma. Flavour had the same sweetness, with a moderately bitter finish. Ok.

Cask-conditioned at the Volunteer Rifleman’s Arms, Bath 11/08/08. Pleasant enough strong bitter, with plenty of red fruit in the aroma and flavour, some caramel and a short dry finish. Drinkable.

Cask-conditioned at The Star, Bath 18/5/08. This was originally the 10th anniversary beer for Abbey Ales, but continues to be brewed due to popular demand. Clear amber in colour with a moderate, contrasting white head. Aroma of red fruit, barley sugar and grassy hops. flavour was sweet, with plenty of malt and fruit before a decent dry finish. The alcohol was fairly well pronounced for a 5% beer, but drinkable nonetheless.
