Sample from the brewery. Appearance - like a cola. Dark brown to black, initially a head but it disappears very quickly. Not expected from a Belgian style beer. Nose - toffee and light prune note. Taste - more prunes. Brown sugar Palate - medium bodied with a sweet tangy texture and a fairly good finish though it is a bit too sweet. Overall - didn’t look like a Belgian Dubbel, but the aroma and taste was a fairly good example. On the palate it does lack the Belgian yeast tang however.

Bottle thanks to the brewery. Appearance - deep amber with a nicely proportioned head. Nose - mango and grapefruit. Maybe a lime tang. Taste - more mango and the big lime tang is confirmed. Palate - medium bodied with a tangy texture and a big tangy and very dry finish. Overall - a very good example of the style.

Sample from the brewery. Appearance - chestnut with a lovely red shade at the bottom of the glass. Nose - light pine, then biscuits. Gets a bit like sticking your head in a malt bag after a while. Taste - hobnobs, then more grainy malt. Toffee at the back. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet crunchy texture and a dry Overall - a bit grainy, but decent bitterness.

Sample from the brewery. Appearance - looks like a puddle, cloudy brown with orange hints. No head but light carbonation. Nose - pineapple and orange with a light creamy backdrop. Taste - creamy, tangy citrus again. Light spice on the finish. Palate - light to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - it’s ok, but unfortunately, it pours very badly in the first place, which overshadows the rest of it.

Sample from the brewery. Appearance - golden and light green chinks. Quite hazy. Generous head. Nose - apple sauce, light lime. Taste - more of the same really. Sweet apple followed by a big lime tang. Palate - light to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - quite a lot of flavour for a Golden Ale. Great stuff.

Sample from the brewery. A bottle conditioned pils by the looks of it. Appearance - hazy golden with a generous head. Nose - light green vegetables and pale malt. Taste - initially, pale malt then bitter salad notes, perhaps radicchio. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - it’s unusual to be drinking a hazy bottle conditioned pils. It doesn’t have the expected clean taste. Maybe it’s a good thing? The finish is properly bitter however which is definitely good.
