Description
We are an East Vancouver craft brewery inspired by tradition and creativity, and go beyond the ordinary to celebrate that which is strange* and extraordinary. The beer we make is influenced both by old world traditions and West coast ingenuity as well as by seasonal ingredients. Our barrel programme promises unique aged beers, and we have a bit of a thing for sour beer.

Poured from 473mL can (canned 01/19/2024). Black with small beige head. I like Boris, but I think it's just that they're using shitty coffee... some green pepper and feint chocolate, weird sweetness, but very unelegant. Meh.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has some floral, citrusy hops, and soft biscuity malt on the underside. Flavour is citrusy in the hop department, though I wouldn't have guessed Nelson Sauvin or NZ hops, as that white wine tang isn't present; instead, it's citrus, floral and maybe a touch of pine, with a light biscuity malt base. Good structure and nicely hopped but I hoped for a more pronounced NZ quality.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a minimally hazy pale golden with a small white head. Aroma reveals washed out earthy hops, a hint of pine, and dusty bread. Flavour is much the same, with a citrusy, earthy hop bitterness and dusty bready malt. Not the most vibrant or fresh hop character, but has some decent bitterness. Not bad for a non-alc.

Pours black with small tan head. Aroma heavy on the espresso; some peat detectable as well. Flavour also has a lot of espresso, dark chocolate, a good amount of bourbon. Maybe some dark red wine notes. The mouthfeel is smooth. Not elegant, but quite enjoyable.

Pours dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is subtle, but I mainly find it barky with a bit of whiskey. Flavour quite malty with a bit of whiskey character.
