Description
We are an East Vancouver craft brewery inspired by tradition and creativity, and go beyond the ordinary to celebrate that which is strange* and extraordinary. The beer we make is influenced both by old world traditions and West coast ingenuity as well as by seasonal ingredients. Our barrel programme promises unique aged beers, and we have a bit of a thing for sour beer.

Pours black with small tan head. Aroma heavy on the espresso; some peat detectable as well. Flavour also has a lot of espresso, dark chocolate, a good amount of bourbon. Maybe some dark red wine notes. The mouthfeel is smooth. Not elegant, but quite enjoyable.

Pours dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is subtle, but I mainly find it barky with a bit of whiskey. Flavour quite malty with a bit of whiskey character.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings outs lots of toasted grains, some rustic notes, and antics of bugs. Flavour is much the same, with plenty of rustic saison yeast, plenty of mixed bugs, and earthy toasted grains. Clean, dry, with big toasted grain notes on the finish. Pleasant.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a clear golden with a tiny white head. Aroma reveals plenty of the ginger upfront, along with lacto, but no real hint of the pepper. Flavour definitely reveals the pepper, as well as subdued ginger; but the lacto base doesn't provide a nice base beer to showcase the adjuncts. Yogurty and just pedestrian. Weak.

Hazy and dullish. Tart, with the taste of underripe pineapple. Maybe some hop. It is quite tart, though, and the adjuncts seem to not be coming through.
