Bottle at Arima Onsen. Creamy malt nose, wheaty biscuits, perfumed rice, lightly lemony. Pale gold with the slightest haze and a small head. Sweet honey and biscuits, bit perfumy, rice. Little to no hops, just a touch of bitterness in the finish, which is a little too dirty. Sweet and creamy. Slightly flowery from the sake yeast. Interesting.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Nov 19. Brought by me. Misty yellow, white froth. Fruity citric nose, lemon juice. Taste has fresh zesty yeast, not spicy, no coriander, smooth, gently sweet, bubblegummy even. Nice.

11th Nov 2019; Beer Share Evening in Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Thanks Mat for this 330ml bottle; BB 19th Oct 2025. Misty yellow body, white topping. Think old style Hoegaarden and you'll not be far off. A very good effort at a style of beer I often struggle with, this held all the correct attributes of the type and I enjoyed it.

Drank at room temperature. The consistency of the liquid is clear. The olfactory intensity is high, and the continuity is appreciable. The taste on the nose - dominant aroma is of malted rice Koji. The taste on the nose - secondary aromas traces melon and green apple. The first impression of intensity in the mouth is of medium strength’s sake. The body is full. The taste intensity is high, and the taste persistence is good. The taste is pleasant. The final mouth sensations are of drinkable sake. In the mouth the aroma is that of vanilla, peach, spring water, a fruity note and alcohol.

Drank at room temperature (one of the recommended temperatures). The amber is yellow in color. The olfactory intensity is high, and the olfactory persistence is considerable. The taste on the nose - dominant aroma is of vegetation and dried apricot. The taste on the nose - secondary aromas is of caramel, vanilla, resin, spices and oak. The body is structured, not heavy, consistent, robust and presents new facets. The taste intensity is very high, and the taste persistence is good and long. The taste is enjoyable for the sake that has its own personality. The final mouth sensations induce compulsive drinking. In the mouth the aroma is that of vanilla, umami, Passito Wine, tobacco, mushroom, spices, wood, soy sauce and a strong taste.

Tap at the Ale House Kamiya, Osaka. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is creamy rice, yeasty, tropical citrus fruit, light floral hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a light, smooth, fruity, mineral, light floral dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Draft at Ale House, Osaka. Fairly hazy golden orange with an off white head. Aroma of cereal, rice and citrus. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
