Quite lager like. Maybe it’s the malt. Not much hint of the extra stuff. Finally got some jasmine at the end! Was still enjoying it anyway. But feel like someone has switched the glass!

Tap at Bungalow. Deep orange-brown, hazy, with lace. Nose is chocolate, banana, caramel, spicy yeast. Quite yeasty. Flavor is the candy bananas I used to get at Easter, also apple, chocolate, rye bread, spices. Fun, not sweet, a little weird but enjoyable.

Nara Ale & Books Bodoni German Ale 6% 15 IBU An orange brown with a dirty beige head of foam and a rye malt aroma with stone fruits. The medium to light bodied brew has peppery caramel biscuit and candy fruit notes reminiscent of fruit cake. The aftertaste gives banana bread. Nice easy drinking stuff.

Tap at Crafthouse Kyoto. Bright golden color. Only slightly hazy. Citrusy nose with some tropical fruits. Crisp and lean, lots of citrus, a bit of catpiss. Some tropical fruit and orange juice, but really not in the hazy style. More like a typical west coaster. Good though.

Nara Brewing Optima German Ale 5.5% 18 IBU I believe this is their Helles lager inspired brew. The aroma is biscuity and malt forward while the medium bodied beer adds crisp herbal elements to the caramel biscuit malt notes. Quite crisp and goes down a treat, nice beer for fall.
Very nice stuff. Vanilla and fruity roast if that makes sense.

Nice stuff. Weird fruit and sweetness mix. Toffee maybe. It’s vanilla/tonka. God I’m shit at this.

NBC MacGuffin 5% 13 IBU Spiced fruit ale with coconut When I read the description I knew I wanted to enjoy this at the beach. I didn’t realize this was a nitro pour! Golden orange with dense creamy foam and a spicy cinnamon, clove & tonka bean aroma. Smooth silky nitro mouthfeel on a medium-full body. The taste is very much spices up front then some tart pineapple and tropical fruit. Good but I’m wishing for more fruit and less spice. The tonka bean gives it an earthy coffe like balance.
