Sampled at the 2013 Chicago Cider Summit. Pours a clear watery gold with no head whatsoever. Aroma is quite thin with just a hint of tart apple. Flavor is also quite watery with just a bit of apple coming through.

Sampled at the 2013 Chicago Cider Summit. Pours a clear neon yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has an earthy candied pear note with a bit of dryness. Flavor is sweet with pear and a bit of a dry, musty finish.

Bomber, listed on the label as Ace Perry Hard Cider, bought at Super 1 in Rathdrum, ID. Pours clear pale gold with a ring of bubbles around the rim of the glass. Aroma is apples, pears, perfumey. Taste is tart and strong in apples and pears; finishes dry. Tastes good to me. Addendum: this cider started wearing out it’s welcome by the second glass, making me lower my overall score. Maybe it was meant to be shared, because 22 ounces is too much for one person.

Bottle. Strange chemical/petroleum apple aroma. Pale yellow with a fizzy white head. Dry green/underipe/jollyrancher apple and artificially tart flavor. Light fizzy body, dry finish. This makes the third cider I’ve tried from this company, and all of them are overly and artificially tart with the addition of malic acid and "enhanced" with natural flavorings. I guess they don’t think apples have enough apple flavor. I won’t be trying any more of their ciders.

Bottle. Windfall apple aroma. Yellow with a ring of white bubbles. Artificially tart windfall apple flavor. Light body, lively carbonation. This is the second ace cider I’ve had, and it’s just as artificially tart (malic acid added) as the first one I had. I guess they thought it would help with the rotted apple flavor.

Bottle. Sweet Jolly Rancher candy aroma. Clear yellow. Flavor right in keeping with the aroma, artificial Jolly Rancher candy and artificially tart flavor. Light body and carbonation. The whole thing smells and tastes like a lab created food bomb, and nothing resembling a pear. In fact, pear isn’t even listed on the ingredients list which reads: fermented apple juice, carbonated water, apple concentrate (as a natural sweetener), natural flavors, malic acid, sulfite (preservative). Puleeeze! How appropriate they make a cider called Joker. This stuff has got to be a joke.

Bottle @ home picked up at Wilbur’s Foco. Pour looks like Chardonnay, very light whitish yellow, clear appearance with a bubbly head that is gone in no time. A touch spicy, dull apple core, slightly grassy, herbal aroma that isn’t really all that interesting. Tangy, lightly tart but fairly sweet apple juicy, light pear, sugary, a touch herbal flavor. Eh, not horrible but not super good either.

Bottle @ home picked up at Wilbur’s Foco. Pours a clear, light yellow appearance with a small white head that dissipates quickly. Sugary, crystallized rock candy, apple juice, came sugar flavor. Apple jolly rancher, very sugary, light pear, koolaid flavor. I guess it’s somewhat drinkable but it’s sugary as fuck.
