The kind of solid old school IPA that I expect from a small regional Vic brewer. Lots of pine with some pepper, milk (aroma) and a tiny bit of caramel.

375ml bottle from the brewery, number 765. Poured a hazy golden straw colour with a big lasting fizzy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, tropical citrus and bretty yeast. The flavour is moderate to light bitter and sour, with a fresh, crisp, dry yeast, herbal, mineral, light citrus fruit, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation. Nicely balanced. Somewhat sessionable.

Bottle from the Healesville Brewery. Poured a murky medium amber with a short-lived frothy off white head. The aroma is grainy malt, yeasty, big floral quince. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a light, watery, grainy, mineral, herbal, dry floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle from the brewery. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a short-lived frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, light caramel, charcoal, coffee. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter, with a dry, roasty, light sweet caramel, dry liqouirce bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A solid stout but maybe a touch over-carbonated.

Bottle from the brewpub. Poured a crystal clear golden colour with a short-lived frothy white head and a few bubbles. The aroma is malt, light citrus fruit, light hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a light, crisp, malt, slightly watery, light citrus, mineral, earthy, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Rather drinkable for the ABV.
