Cask at Brunswick, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with minimal off-white head. There’s roast malts and plums in the aroma. In the mouth it is quite sweet but with a little underlying bitterness. Flavour has cola, roasted malts and dark fruits. Later on there are hints of alcoholic strength and autumn fruits as well. Finish is quite bitter. Not bad at all.

330ml can from Becketts Farm Shop, Wythall. Poured a slightly hazy yellow golden colour with a short-lived, frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, light citrus fruits. The flavour is moderate to light bitter and sweet, with a somewhat light, crisp, light herbal, melon, light lemon citrus, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation.

330ml can from Becketts Farm Shop, Wythall. Poured a clear light yellow golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head and plenty of bubbles. The aroma is light grainy malt, fake sugar and light citrus fruits. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, light sweet, with a light, somewhat watery, fresh, light herbal, melon, cucumber, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. No backbone, but quite tasty and refreshing on a hot day.

Cask @ Coach and Horses, Weatheroak Hill. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, fruity and light hoppy. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. Does not feel or look like a Vienna although the pumpclip says so. It’s really just a Golden Ale. 120219
