Cask at Cherry Reds, Birmingham. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is skunky malt, light woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light, watery, light pepper spice, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Tried at the Coach Horses, golden colour with a thin white head. Light but hoppy aroma, fruity and a touch of flora. Taste mid bitter to bitter finish. very drinkable.

Cask at the Coach and Horses, Weatheroak Hill, Alvechurch. Poured a dark reddish brown with a thick tan head. The aroma is fruity and medicinal. The flavour is medium bitter and fruity with a nice spicy liquorice bitterness on the palate, probably from the alcohol. A super heart warming winter ale that is looking for a roaring fire to be enjoyed with!

Cask at the Coach and Horses, Weatheroak Hill, Alvechurch. Poured a clear light amber with a broken white head and bags of broken lace. The aroma is fruity leading to a weak bitter flavour with lots of citrus notes and hops on the palate. This was a lot better than I was expecting and easily drinkable for a session.

Cask at the Coach and Horses, Weatheroak Hill, Alvechurch. Poured a clear golden brown with a broken tan head and broken lace. The aroma is of toffee and malt and just a touch fruity. The flavour is medium bitter, with malt and hints of caramel and spice on the palate. A really superb session bitter packed with flavour. One of the best traditional English bitters I’ve tasted.

Cask Conditioned at the Coach and Horses. A typical English style pale ale. A beer that could be drunk all night and if I was staying over, I would have! Served at just the right temperature to extract all the flavours. Nice hoppy aroma with a slighly bitter aftertaste. If anyone hasn’t been to the pub, then go there! It’s out of the way, but worth the trip.
