Description
SingleCut Beersmiths was founded by Queens/NYC born, music-obsessed brewer Rich Buceta, whose life-long passions led to a place where hops and vinyl could shine side by side. After years of homebrewing and professional stints around NYC, Rich was true to his dream, diving headfirst into the brewing world. “My obsession is creating original hop-driven beer; distinguished by a firm respect and admiration for West Coast pioneers, and bending that to our East Coast / NYC interpretation.” Since opening in 2012, and with the help of an equally talented and devoted team, SingleCut has gained a loyal following throughout the East-Coast’s most respected markets. With his steadfast determination for the perfect pint, Rich penned "Mastery Knows No Shortcut" as the SingleCut mission statement. “It boils down to always demanding greatness, never compromising, and always play it at maximum volume.”

Can to tulip. Can dated 11/07/2017 and consumed on 11/16/2017
Appearance: burnt amber to copper color with a finger's worth of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: floral to melon and/or honeydew with a light apricot and/or peachy hop note; some bready malts underneath
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to bittersweet sort of quality; finishes leaning into the melon/honeydew character with a little bit of bready malts
Texture: medium bodied, somewhat sessionable; good smoothness, and the dry hopping isn't chalky or dry - it comes across in a soft sort of way
Overall: what a lovely DDH NEDIPA I would have again.

Aroma: orange to floral hoppy notes, light pine and a whiff of some clean malts
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas together in a sweet to bittersweet sort of way; finishes orangey to floral hoppy toned
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; good clean smoothness
Overall: nicely done IPA that seems to lean towards a New England styled one.

Can to becher glass. Consumed 11/04/2017
Appearance: glossy yellow to orange color with a finger's worth of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: stiff piney hops with a little bit of lemony hop undertones; seems like a blend of some caramel malts with a biscuity malt tone
Flavor: tries to combine the prior noted aromas and doesn't do a bad job - but maybe not a truly stellar job; finishes semi-malty with some piney to lemony hop tones
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; some hop bitterness grip seems to keep the smoothness of this beer from it's potential
Overall: maybe not the best attempt by Singlecut but also not the worst IPA on the market.

Bottle to tulip.
Appearance: copper color with a quarter finger of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: light peachy/apricot bitter to sweet hoppy notes, light lemony and some piney hoppiness with a clean caramel/toffee maltiness underneath
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a sweet to bittersweet quality; finishes semi-malty with the piney hops a bit undermined
Texture: medium bodied, leaning towards being sessionable; some smoothness but also some hop notes brushing the tongue
Overall: seemed like an "old school DIPA" that I didn't mind for me.
