Bottle thanks to Nathan. Pours a dark amber beige head. The aroma is coffee bean roast. Sweet roast and strong coffee. Light bitter finish. Very good.

Draft at the Burger Joint, Ogilve Transportation Center. Deep brown like dried blood, with just a little bit of highlighting at the bottom. A thin tan head. Has the creamy smell of a porter or milk stout. A very big taste that’s too complex to pigeonhole. Start with some Schwartzbier malt, Just a slight astringency. A bit of baker’s chocolate and again, a creamy texture. Quite filling after the Tallgrass 8-Bit I just had. Lacks the "spice" of a wheat beer, but surely offers a fine smooth texture, emphasized at the end by the return of a milk stout-ish mouthfeel.

Bottle. Pours clear amber, large beige creamy head that dissipates with nice lacing. Aroma is mostly pine and caramel. Flavor is light sweet and light bitter. Medium body, oily mouthfeel. This could be the iconic standard IPA of three years ago.

Tap at Old Fashioned. Opaque brown-black body. Thin, oily head. Sugary sweet chocolate aroma. Pretty insipid, amateur offering. Chocolate malt overload on top of a watery, bland body. Almost and extract feel, overly sweet and underattenuated. One-dimensional, dirinkable, but sub par. Schwarz-Dunkel..not much wheat.

12oz bottle. Hazy orange-gold body. Steady, creamy off-white head. Cool, sugar edged crisp hop aroma. Sort of one-dimensional, but has an enjoyable enough hop tone. Mediocre product, sort of offensive and inauthentic to experienced drinkers. Not bad, just really mediocre.

Tap at Old Fashioned. Filtered orange-red-tan. Big, foamy off white head. Soapy, brewhouse aroma, not so impressive. Big vanilla cherry amber malt, not enough hops to balance it out. Not outright bad, but kind of a cheap, grainy factory feel. Not one I’d recommend or order again.

Bottle. Pours a light amber in color with a small thin white head that leaves some nice lacing. Citrus hops and sweet caramel malt aromas. Taste is along the same lines with a nice bitter hop peresence. Nicely balanced malt and hop character. Maybe a little too caramel like for me, but it still is nice.

A hazed golden IPA with a thick creamy mocha head. In aroma, a sweet fruity caramel malt with pungent British hops, vinous notes, butterscotch. In mouth, a sweet butterscotch malt with grassy citrus hops, not bad. On tap at Istmus Beer and Cheese Fest, Jan 19 2012.
