A deep dark stout with a thin dark brown head. In aroma, nice bitter chocolate with coffee grind, light licorice, sweet fruity notes, pleasant. In mouth, a nice bitter chocolate with loads of coffee grind, musty character, light mineral notes, grassy hops, light vanilla, alcohol warmth, very nice. On tap at L’isle de Garde.

Pours a hazy golden-amber colour with a big white head, good retention and some dirty lacing. Nice fresh grass aromas from the hops with some citrus zest notes. The taste is hoppy, but not as bitter with hints of oranges and the malts showing a little more. Nice cereal overall. The finish gets dryer. This goes down nicely and I enjoy the hops used. I like this Imperial IPA.

Can: Poured a clear amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrus and light resin notes is quite dominant and enjoyable. Taste is dominated by citrus oriented flavors with some resins notes and some sweet malt with a light caramel touch. Body is about average with good carbonation. Light bitterness notes were noticeable but somewhat offset by the residual sugar notes. Doesn’t break nay new ground but well brewed and quiet enjoyable.

6/3/7/4/13=3.3/5.0

Second brew in a can from Farnham of the night. Pours a cloudy light-golden colour with again, a big head. The warm cap is foamy with small bubbles, goes down slowly and leaves foam patch lacing. Pretty hoppy nose, almost hoppier than their IPA. Mild grapefruit and grass. Also citrus in the taste, but not as bitter, which makes this a nice pale ale. Light zest appears in the aftertaste. Decent dryness. Preferred this one over their IPA. Just wish their head would be a little less (not a fan of their carbonation).

Can from a Metro store in St-Jerome, QC. Pours a clear amber colour with a big frothy-foamy warm light-beige head that lasts long and offers soapy lacing. Malty nose with caramel notes. The hops seems like some of the chemical grassy ones found in macro brews. The taste is better, with some decent hops of grass over the caramel malts. Some fruitiness lingers. Then, grass and grain. Nothing real bad, but nothing too crazy. Would not have again with all the better average IPAs out there.
