Fairly clear amber, copper and bronze coloured body with a fairly thin, single to perhaps two centimetre tall tan head that fades very quickly and remains quite dark for the style. Aroma of crisp and grainy malts with a deep nutty and floral bite with a slightly grassy and citrusey scent, but fairly malty. Light to Medium-bodied; Rich nutty and floral hops dominate here with a very grassy finish, without any real bitterness, alpha acids or pungency, but showing less of an IPA and closer to an EPA or even an ESB, due to the malt heaviness. Aftertaste is fairly one-dimensional with a lot of grain, malts, nuts and caramelised sugar flavours without any real hops, no bitterness, pungency, alcohol or real character. Overall, very disappointing, and while it was hard to read the bottom of the can (smudged), if it was 'this' fresh, it's even more disappointing from this brewery - definitely passable and wroth trying to find a different beer for the style from somewhere more local to you (unless you are from Kentucky). I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Wegman's in Lake Manassas in Gainesville, Virginia on 07-March-2021 for US$1,99, brewed on (perhaps?) 15-January-2021 sampled at my house here in Washington on 11-May-2021.
