Description
Against The Grain offers an eclectic line of canned and barrel-aged beers. We can be found in up to 43 states in the good o' USA, upwards of 25 countries around the world, and, of course, right here the home in Louisville, KY.

Against the Grain Portland is our production facility. We have a three vessel 30 barrel system alongside five 60 barrel fermenters and our canning line. We also barrel age all of our beer at this location. (only open for special events)

Coriander, lemon, wheat malt, and grass aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Lightly sweet coriander, lemon, wheat malt, and mildly bitter grass flavor. Okay body. (Rerated draft - canned sample had moderate plastic aroma and flavor/chlorophenol issues)

Milk, biscuit malt, and straw aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Moderately sweet creamy biscuit malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Good body. Nicely drinkable.

Can. A- Roasty, char, burnt sugars, bourbon, chocolate. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, brown head. T- Pecan, burnt sugar, roasty, booze, tobacco, rye, nutty, cocoa. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, robust finish. O- Definitely not as dessert like as I thought. I get lots of roast, char, bitter and nutty notes. Didn't quite hit the mark for me.

Nice light brown bubbly-creamy longlasting head, deep dark pour. Aroma is slightly dry roasted, dark malts, old rope, alcohol, oak, burnt licorice, cough syrup, toast, sour-ish roasted grain, dark sugar, herbs, minerals, spices, tobacco. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish roasted, tobacco, burnt licorice, sour-ish roasted grain, old rope, alcohol, oak, toast, spices, tar, leather. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh boozy mouthfeel. Nice enough.

Pours a hazy yellow orange. It has a citrusy, slightly spicy aroma. The flavor is lightly sweet and very citrusy. Wheat malt is apparent. Light bodied. Nice wheat ale.

Pours pitch black, large dark tan head.Nose shows bourbon, chocolate fudge, coconut, heavy roast, best and toasty malt.Flavours include more chocolate fudge/choc liqueur, coconut bourbon notes, woody oak, heavy roast.

Checked the 1 pint from my son at their brew pub downtown. Golden in the glass, smooth grainy, nothing wrong, easy drinker for the neighborhood.
