Bottle, 0.5l. Clear golden pour with two finger creamy white head. Pretty good retention, nice lacing. Nose seems a bit off, dominated by hay and cardboard. Slightly grassy. Medium body, softly carbonated. Watery texture, however not completely thin. Malty sweet taste with a bit of metallic bitternes lingering on the tongue throughout the finish. Aroma is usual lager; grainy, malty, grassy. A bit of metal. Traces of caramel and hops. All in all, pretty mild aroma. Would be quite ok if not for that damn acidity. Overall, drinkable. Expected a bit more out of this one, could be better.

Bottle, 500 ml from MBR. Pours clear pale golden, short lasting white head. Malty, yeasty, bit buttery, some herbal notes. Quite bland. Sweetish. Light to medium bodied. Not sure if I’d like to drink this one again.

Jun. ’16. A 0.5 l bottle from Mali Ducan, Split. Hazy yellow bodied with a big frothy head. Fine lemon, yeast and dust aroma, warped me to the beginning of my beer hobby, reminding of the joy of discovering a new brewpub that had only a lager or two in some place where no ratebeerian has gone before. Flavor was lightly bitter, and with light sourness, felt almost like an unpasteurized lager. Just it’s not. A bit lemony, soapy, chalky, grainy, hay, pretty interesting and full for the style although not the most pleasant around. I prefer the regular one somehow, at least when I last had it, a couple of years back. Don’t know now, anything could have happened. To conclude with my usual quote when drinking such a beer - quite an average brewpub helles.

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy dark copper brown with stable light tan head. Clear aroma of malt, with notes of caramel and yeast. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt, with notes of yeast and touches of fruit and hops. Estery aftertaste with lactic hints. Not that bad, just tame.

0.5 l bottle at Sheridan’s Irish Pub, Zagreb. Clear pale golden, small white head. Cereal, bread, yeast, and something odd, butter I think. Bread and butter basically. Sweet, light body, watery texture, not to terrible. Light malty finish, doesn’t sound bad, but not that good altogether.

So, another beer that should’ve been released 10 years ago or something and not in 2016, but hey, it’s great to finally see Ličanka do something, anything to expand their portfolio. It’s a controversial brewery, due to the extreme-right hysterics of its owner, but a brewery that didn’t have it easy, either, what with having been robbed at a crucial point in its development, when it was allegedly testing a weizen and/or an "altbier" even (and all we got was Kasačko), what with workforce problems because of its remoteness and because locals would allegedly work for a couple of months at what the owner, rightly, considered to be fair wages, but would prefer to not do anything for the rest of the year, living off of that what they earned then... A rise in popularity also took its toll, with the beer apparently being rushed out before it was lagered properly. The recipes were tweaked for the worse too (especially noted in the dark). In any case... I pretty much gave up on the beer, having drunk dud upon dud, only a tad better than the macros, and sometimes no better really, until I recently had it in a blind tasting, very much in form. So I tried the beer with a dose of optimism that would be missing a couple of months ago.0.5l bottle, Magic Beer Room, thanks Dassa Gozza! Misty golden body with a thick white head. Sweetish aroma, malty, with some diacetyl. Light herbal hops too. Taste... OK mld herbal notes, vague eggy notes, good soft mouthfeel with light bitterness. Ok enough, solid, and if you like this type of lager, you’ll probably like it more than me. Had far worse from this brewery.

Bottle, 0.33l, courtesy of MarkoNm. Pours almost black with thin soapy light brown head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, honey and grass. Taste starts with moderate sweet caramel and roasted malt, follows nutty, sour bready and grassy with moderate bitter finish. Medium body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Certainly worth of another one...
