568mL can, pours a deep dark reddish amber with a small beige head. Aroma has a boatload of caramel, toffee, bready malt, and subdued resinous hops. Flavour is very malty, with lots of caramel malt, bready notes, toffee, and some resinous hop bitterness that I wish was a lot more prominent. Too malty for the style, so not the best balance. I’m glad they attempted this, but it leaves plenty to be desired.

Bright reddish-brown. Medium head. Bitter, lots of sweet malt. Some alcohol. Lots of piney hop. The hop character is quite interesting, actually. Cascadey bitterness, but random red currants, cedar, white grapefruit. Interesting choice for a beer intended to showcase malts to lay down neomex, an experimental hop and a really obscure Czech hop. Well-balanced. Could do for a bit more body. But this isn't bad.

473mL can, pours a clear pale golden with a medium white head. Aroma reveals grassy, almost herbal hops, some pine, citrus, and biscuity malt. Flavour is rather grassy and herbal, borderline vegetal, in the hop department, with a dry biscuity malt base. Too herbal/vegetal, not enough grassy nor classic west coast hops that they advertise. Clean enough structure, just not totally nailing that expression. Okay.

Poured from 568mL can (pkg 11/11/2025). Chill hazed blonde gold with small white head. Citrusy grapefruit hops, almost a hint of juniper, definitely herbal, bitterness is there, but fairly low, needs a bit more zip, but easy drinking.

250 ml can. Pours a very pale gold with moderate head. Aromas of earthy honey, grain/rice and sulphur. Flavors of more floral honey, rice and dull citrus.

Hazy and pale, but just a thin head. There's some piney hop notes on the aroma. The flavour has more of those, some light orange, and a bit of sweetness. The motueka, I feel, makes the hop blend pop here. The fermentation is interesting - it has that light fruitiness even from a lager yeast.

On tap at Main Street, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has plenty of waffle character, gentle chocolate, and sugars. Flavour is extremely sweet, with plenty of chocolate-dipped waffles—as advertised. There’s not much malt backbone, and this is still much too sweet. Gimmicky nonsense, but not terrible—marginally better than the non-chocolate version.

On tap at Main Street, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma has some citrusy hops, powdered citrus fruits, and some perfumey hop oils. Flavour is a little better, with lots of citrus, grapefruity hops, and floral notes. Pretty thin malt base, finishing on citrusy hop oils and citrus fruits. Not bad but the hop expression is a bit clumsy and the citrus powder doesn’t help.

On cask at Main Street, pours black with a small beigr head. Aroma has subtle cocoa, a touch of lactose, and toasted malt. Flavour has English malts, cocoa, and gentle lactose. Constructed reasonably well, finishing lightly sweet and chocolatey. Decent.

On cask at Main Street, pours a clear amber with a small tan head. Aroma has dry bready malt, not much else. Flavour has a little more hop content, with light bitterness, dry bready malt, and a touch of dried toffee. Finished lightly bitter. Very easy-drinking and unassuming. Decent.
